My husband and I loved our stay at Brody House. The hotel is beautiful and quirky, decorated with interesting design choices and artwork.
We stayed in the Yeresko Room, which is located upstairs, across the courtyard. It has a shared common room with a few other rooms, which had an honestly mini bar, and a small kitchenette with everything you would need to take a more self catering approach. Our room was beautifully furnished and the bed was huge and very comfy. The bathroom situation is interesting, with the toilet in its own small room, and the sinks and shower/bath in the main room (with a wall separating it from the bed area) - however we didn’t mind this too much.
The hotel location is fantastic, right next to a museum and short walks from lots of bars, restaurants and public transport (including the airport shuttle bus drop off) but its still super quiet considering how central it is.
The staff are also all very friendly and helpful, offering a guide of sites and restaurant recommendations, which we found very handy.
There is a cafe/bar at in the hotel, which serves Turkish style brunch food with great vegetarian choices. We ate there twice during our stay, and everything was delicious both times, and just like the rest of the hotel, the cafe is vibrantly and comfort decorated.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Brody House! Thank you so much for a...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 wonderful nights during our visit to Budapest and thoroughly enjoyed our time. For starters the building and decor are absolutely beautiful - although the building doesn't have a lift, the stairs are small steps so you can slowly manoeuvre your way up the 4 flights of stairs with your luggage. We stayed in Room PG and the floor felt like a home with the living spaces and kitchenettes, and our room was absolutely enormous! Comfortable bed and more than enough space for luggage on the floor, a big walk in wardrobe, and spacious bathroom too - with 2 sinks and a separate toilet and shower (also big and with heated floor tiles/towel rack and 2 shower heads!). ||It should be mentioned though that there is little to no soundproofing (unsurprising given the building is from 1896), one evening we were inside our room at about 5pm and there was a group of 4+ people using the shared living space outside our room and it was quite noisy, though only for an hour or so. Unsure how often housekeeping checks on the kitchenettes as some of the teas ran out during our stay and wasn't topped up until we requested. There's no fridge in the room but we used an area in the shared fridge in the kitchenette||Short walk to the main road and restaurants/shops, but far away enough from the hustle and bustle to hear very little...

Darling, if you’re still staying at generic chain hotels in Budapest, I simply can’t. C’est très basic. Welcome to Bródy House, aka the place where old-money meets bohemian fabulousness.
The rooms? Obsessed. Each one is like walking into a Countess’s private salon… but with better lighting. High ceilings, art everywhere, and that perfect mix of shabby-chic and luxury that screams: “I inherited taste, not just money.”
The location? Iconic. Steps from the National Museum and main square, but somehow still whisper-quiet. You can literally sip your espresso in peace while peasants queue at Starbucks. Tragic for them, divine for you.
The backyard? Ugh. Darling. Crisp coffee in the morning, crisp rosé in the evening. Everyone is casually socialising as if they’re auditioning for a Hungarian remake of La Dolce Vita. Fabulous energy.
So yes, if you’re in Budapest and you want quiet luxury with a dash of effortless fabulous bohemia, Bródy House is the move. You’ll thank me...
