A Disappointing Experience in Budapest
If you’re wandering through Budapest and thinking of trying Calzone Pizzeria, I’d honestly suggest you keep walking. This place is not somewhere you go for a good meal, it’s simply a spot to fill your stomach when you’re starving and can’t find anything else nearby. That’s exactly what happened with us, we were hungry, and this was the closest option. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. The food itself is nothing special. The pizza isn’t the worst I’ve ever had, but it’s far from good. It feels rushed and lacks the authentic flavor that a true pizzeria should have. The jalapeno pesto was a real mistake, it didn’t blend well with the rest of the ingredients and left a strange aftertaste. Everything about the food felt uninspired and thrown together just to get something out of the kitchen.
What truly made the visit unpleasant wasn’t even the food but the attitude of the management. We asked for a pair of gloves to eat with, and the owner flat out refused, which came off as extremely cheap and disrespectful. That kind of attitude ruins the entire experience, no matter how the food tastes. There was, however, one bright spot is Farida, the receptionist. She was sweet, kind, and genuinely tried to help. All love to her; she was the only good thing about our visit.
Another serious issue is honesty. The place proudly claims that it serves all halal food, yet they sell beer and alcohol. That’s misleading and deeply disappointing for customers who care about that standard.
Overall, Calzone Pizzeria is not a place I would ever recommend. Save yourself the frustration and find somewhere that actually values its customers and stands...
Read moreWe tried this restaurant because after 10 pm this was the only option in that area and we also read good reviews about the place...It was a mistake, the food was a big disappointment. The place is run by a Turkish family and the pizza is just one level up from a frozen pizza. I was expecting a nice Italian pizza(based on the name and the reviews) that I can get in many places in Budapest, but I only got a cheap replica that I would not call an "original Italian pizza" We ate a prosciutto pizza that had some budget ham from a supermarket (not even look like a prosciutto) and a salami pizza, that had probably the cheapest salami in Budapest. The tomato sauce was too garlicky. I would recommend searching further if u wanna eat a nice pizza, there are much...
Read moreI want to tell about something that happened to me there which is not usuall in Hungary; I was there few days ago and I ordered pizza when it was ready they gave it to me on piece of carton which I hold with one hand. Due to the heat of the pizza, the carton folded and the pizza fell on the floor. The owner was very kind, immediately offered me a new pizza free of charge and ask his employee to make for me. This kind behavior unfortunately you can't see in most of the places in Hungary!
My recommendation; Great owner and employees all of them very kind! good pizza! comfortable prices. The only thing why I didn't gave 5 stars is that you can't buy slices, you must buy only in 32 cm size which even for me a grown guy, it was...
