Doppio Italian Kitchen — Restaurant in Budapest

Awful customer service as soon as we walked in. Blonde, white waitress named Anita judged our food orders, laughed at us, ignored us and even tried to scam us. Would NOT recommend due to her behaviour. Food was okay, but definitely not worth the price. The other male waiter however was nice and helpful, shame she ruined it. Below as you can read is the reply from the restaurant criticising me, although I am the customer, something they also did while serving us. They claim I am not mature, yet the waitress openly laughed at my friend for ordering a salad without tuna, or at another friend for asking which foods did not have cheese. This worsens since my friend is allergic to cheese and could be hospitalised if the staff is not careful. When saying she was allergic, and explaining which cheeses would give her a reaction, Anita turned around and left. When asking for which foods didn’t have cheese, she actually laughed in her face. As for the chef coming out, this didn’t happen, another lie, but it should’ve, since such seems pretty normal or even necessary to me since my friend could actually die from this allergy. Finally, Anita said that the “card system was down”, upon us complaining about such, suddenly it worked, showcasing another lie. Oh and she pushed one...

Looked nice from the outside however inside was one of the worst experiences of our trip to Budapest. Front of house staff a young woman with short hair and a neck tattoo was awfully rude and scowled at everyone aswell as constantly focusing on people shutting the door rather than doing her job. On top of this our order was mixed up with only half ending up on our table. We waited for the other part but in the process finished out meal. When we asked for the bill the unpleasant woman approached our table to explain the other part of our order was nearly ready, why they were not all made to arrive at the same time was unbeknown to us. We said we wanted everything together and she just muttered something under her breath and walked away. All in all we would never recommend anyone to this restaurant no matter how...

Food and drinks was good, but the atmosphere changed immediately after we did not give them tips. During payment they said it was up to us to pay tips or not, since we are students we didn’t. A few minutes later he came back and explained to us what tips means for them, and how it would benefit the workers there. They proceed to close the outside area before the closing hour, probably due to us not tipping and we were the only one left. I had to chug my glass of wine that I had left because they were literally standing next by our table waiting for us to leave 7 min before closing hour. Before this they removed all the tables around us while we tried to enjoy our last drink.

Restaurants like this will not live long in Budapest, I guess this is the reason why I’ve never seen them having...
