We only chose to eat here because we were tired after a day of walking and wanted something different from all the traditional meat dishes in Budapest. Boy were we surprised. I think overall still edible if we just looked past the taste. The chef or owner doesn't really take pride in the food preparation. We had the pork and beef noodle soup. Both were cooked in the same manner, basically stir fried scallops and garlic then with some generic bone broth or water poured in and mixed up some vegetables and some meat, well here's the noodle soup. Really sad! Ok to give them credit, the noodles were not over-cooked and appeared to be handmade (as its challenging to get ready made noodles in Budapest) and their chilli paste were made with Chilli Padi (plenty of kick!), but other than that, we wished we had went to a Vietnamese pho shop instead. Service was ok. So if they had made an effort in preparing the stock and broth, things would be different. They also had this Asian ready cooked food concept so you can choose meat and vegetables dishes to go with rice or noodles. We didn't do that because they don't look appetizing. Overall choose this place for budget meals (not for the taste, its quantity...
Read moreThey surely know how to make spicy food that's a positive, but other than that the experience was mediocre at best. For this price category I expected slightly better than pre-cooled frozen dumplings with lacklustre seasoning. The main dish was okay, again the problem is that I regularly have better meals for half the price in an asian fast food restaurant. That said it wasn't particularly bad, I enjoyed my meal and the portion was filling, it just couldn't quite meet the quality standard in the respective price category in this part of the city. The service was adequate, quite polite and patient. We had one misunderstanding which caused a tiny bit of awkwardness but otherwise I'm content with how we were treated. The atmosphere is just okay, on the positive side it did have an asian feel to it, it was clean and authentic, but also just dark and unsafe somehow, I couldn't quite feel comfortable dining there. Maybe it was the effect of dark furniture & cold neon lights? Not sure. Overall, okay restaurant, I would recommend it if and only if your other option is mcdonalds or some trash food like that. It is a relatively healthy option that can chase your hunger away for a...
Read moreWe wanted dim sum and this was one of the suggestions on Google. I really wanted soup dumplings and although they were tasty, only one had any soup inside! The siu mai was excellent - loads of filling and tender wrapping. My partner loved the fried beef dumplings. The steamed chicken buns were really really dry but tasted great once we dipped them into our soup. Speaking of which, the won ton soup was delicious! Really fragrant and tasty.
When we first got into the restaurant it was dead silent! Which was a little unnerving but then a few more people came in so there was a little more noise.
The man who served us seemed to be on his own and did a great job with everyone's orders and needs.
Overall, not a bad choice...
