I would give this restaurant 0 stars out of 5 if there was an option.
I typically refrain from writing negative feedback about restaurants, but my experience here compels me to warn fellow travelers, especially those staying in nearby hotels.
On December 19, after a long day of touring Budapest, my family and I were eager to try local cuisine and decided to enter this restaurant. We were met with rudeness from the male staff member, who aggressively asked if we had a reservation. Unaware that a reservation was required, we explained this, only to be met with raised voices and gestures urging us to leave. The atmosphere was extremely unwelcoming.
On December 20, I made a reservation for dinner with a Hungarian friend. While we waited for her to arrive, the staff repeatedly pressured us to order, despite my explanation that we were waiting for one more person. The uncomfortable vibe was palpable, with staff laughing and looking at us inappropriately. When we finally ordered, the male waiter showed more attention to my Hungarian friend, which we initially attributed to their shared language. However, throughout the meal, I noticed the staff frequently glancing at our table, exchanging disapproving looks and comments, as if they wanted us to leave.
When it came time to pay, my card was declined because it was locked—a mistake on my part. The waiter rudely pointed this out and made a face. After my other card was approved, he carelessly tossed the receipt on the table and walked away without a word. This behavior prompted my Hungarian friend to exchange looks of disbelief with me. We left the restaurant determined never to return.
To my fellow Asians considering this restaurant: choose somewhere else. This establishment is not Asian-friendly.
As for the food, the salmon dish was dry, overly salty, and basic, while the cucumber lemonade...
Read moreIt was our last day in Budapest and we decided to have our lunch here before we left the country. Unfortunately it was a very bad last day for us.
The food choices was really good and we were even excited about it.. BUT...
The Service is really really bad and Rude. No one was approaching our table for more than 10 minutes even though there was one waiter going in and out-- it wasn't even busy, so I decided to go inside and ask for the card and the Bartender/ Waiter was talking to me super rude even though I asked him nicely and even greeted him when I went inside.
We let that one pass and try to adjust that maybe he was having a bad day or whatever after some time we ordered drinks and it was ok and then for 15 or more minutes no one was approaching our table--AGAIN to get our orders the bartender/waiter went out to check on other guests and we gave a signal that we were ready to order.
He approached first the people behind us and then didn't went to our table anymore like he played pretend that he didn't saw us -- even though he looked at me.
After he went to the guests behind us we started talking to them and it seems like they recieved the same treatment like us and the waiter/bartender was even being rude to them too. They've been waiting for their food for almost an hour and they were getting a really bad service from them too and the waiter even started to have an argument with them.
We really wanted to try the food there but when the service is really bad and unfriendly You wouldn't even want to stay at that place longer and will lose your appetite so we just left the place after we...
Read moreI’m sorry to say that my family and I had a very disappointing experience. The staff wasn’t warm and welcoming, and their demeanor made us feel distinctly as if were inconveniencing them before we even placed an order. Nonetheless, we didn’t let the introduction break our jolly spirits and looked forward to enjoying some ethnic Hungarian cuisine. Sure disappointment ensued… The food was terrible and the dealing with the waiters made the entire experience one which made me voice this review to warm future potential customers. We ordered 12 items, but had to return three of them (the desert) two orders of túrógombóc and one of aranygaluska, because they were simply inedible, and I couldn’t justify paying for food no one could eat. Additionally, we chose to keep two other dishes—the pesto pasta and the csirkepaprikás—just to avoid the discomfort of sending more items back, though we ultimately left them untouched in a to-go bag on the table. If the 15% gratuity hadn’t been automatically included in the €109 bill, I would have left no tip at all, solely due to the unprofessional behavior of the staff. You’ve...
