Gróf Széchenyi Boat — Local services in Budapest

The food was ok, and the views are great, but this experience could not have been worse. Hence, only one star. Firstly, the booking agency and this particular Organization are not organized at all. If you want to hear about my experience, read on. If not, my advice to you is not to book with this ship. Trust me!

My horrible experience: I booked 3 tickets that claimed to include a full buffet online. So, as anyone would assume, I could get anything in the buffet. But, unfortunately, this was not the case. The website was not clear that there were two options for the buffets. One had fewer choices than the other. Unaware that I ACTUALLY didn’t have a full buffet booked (because the website was so confusing), I went to the other one. A friendly waiter told us that we had to pay extra, and so we did. No problem, right? Wrong…

As a family member is about to get up and get a plate at the bigger buffet line (we had already paid with a receipt), a waiter starts screaming at us. Due to miscommunication between members of the staff, my family and I were yelled at by waiters thinking that we were “stealing” food. Really made us feel like criminals. Once the miscommunication was clarified, everything was “fine,” but of course, it wasn’t. The hysterical screaming from that waiter is something that I’ll never be able to forget.

This is not how you’re supposed to treat customers. I don’t need a royal treatment, nor do I even require great service. But decency is a must. Nobody should be treated like poop (and I want to use a stronger word). End of story.

😠I'm posting a one-star review just because there's no option for no stars. Excellent tour, dancers, and instrumentalists. BUT they really exceeded themselves with the horrific experience they provided to us. I don't know where to start. There's not one instance I remember in my whole life I was treated so poorly like literal garbage in a public place. We did not have dinner just because of how we were treated even though we paid for it. And if you're a foreigner like me, I suggest you to think twice before going to that boat.

The first waiter said: "This is not America, this is Hungary" just because we were asking to be seated where our US group was. They couldn't tell us where we were supposed to seat, and you could tell they're incredibly disorganized. Mind you that at least half of the reservations for this boat were for the same group from the USA.

Another waiter was about to kick us out despite, again, having paid for this dinner cruise!

A third waiter didn't speak, but looked at us from head to toes as if we were criminals.

And a fourth worker was furious because we had left a bag in one of the restrooms. It was clear that he would hit us at any time based on how aggressive he was when answering our questions. We refused to leave the premises until we got our bag back.

At least four different workers in the same boat gave us the worst treatment as customers, and this is UNACCEPTABLE!

And for that reason, if I ever come back to Hungary, I'll never book another tour in...

I had an unforgettable dinner cruise experience this past December with my sister! We booked the dinner and wine tasting package, and it was absolutely worth it. The food was delicious, and the wine was excellent—though a heads up, there will be lots of wine, and some are quite strong!

The staff truly made the night special. Our servers, Anna and Antonio, were outstanding. Anna shared fascinating details about the wines we were tasting as well as local history, while Antonio was incredibly sweet and attentive, ensuring we had a wonderful experience. A big thank you to both of them for making our evening so memorable!

The live musicians were super friendly and played beautifully. We even ended up buying their CD! The dancers were also fantastic, adding to the lively atmosphere.

The view from the cruise ship was stunning, making the entire experience even more magical.

The only downside was that finding the ship was a bit confusing. It would be helpful if there were a large banner or clearer signage to indicate the exact location.
