The most authentic Indonesian restaurant you can find in Budapest. We had the beef rendang and the bakmi jawa kuah. the selection was a bit limited, but sometimes less is more, in order to focus on quality. Our server was one of the nicest people we've ever met, and was very attentive to when we had ran out of water to come and get us more (it was also a nice touch that he offered tap water, which was a first for me in Hungary). When we ordered, he showed us his selection of Indonesian snacks and explained each one and suggested we tried some. The fried tofu and the dadar gulung were excellent as a little appetiser. The beef rendang was extremely tender, and the sauce was just the perfect balance of spice and flavour. Although I would've liked to see more meat, it was still amazing. The bakmi jawa kuah was also very delicious, with an incredible aroma and spice. I enjoyed my meal so much as it reminded me when I visited Indonesia, and I am glad I visited this restaurant as it had been so long since I have had authentic Indonesian food. Unfortunately, they were out of sate kepal, but I will be back to try it! Definitely recommend, as the prices are very reasonable, you get a good portion of food that will transport you to Indonesia and you will have the best...
Read moreMy partner and I visited Indonesia Culinary Budapest to explore Indonesian food for the first time — and it completely exceeded our expectations! It was honestly one of the best dining experiences we've ever had.
The food was absolutely delicious, full of unique flavors we had never tried before. The menu offers such a wide variety that we couldn’t resist coming back two days later to try more dishes — and if we had more time in Budapest, we would’ve definitely come back again!
The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even more special. This place truly left a mark on us — we only wish we had food like this available where we live.
We highly recommend Indonesia Culinary to anyone visiting Budapest — it’s a hidden gem and an unforgettable culinary experience. We can’t wait...
Read moreTHE best Indonesian restaurant in Budapest (there are some other Indonesian restaurant but trust me when I say this is the best in town). I was so surprised when I found this restaurant last year and have been going couple of times since then. They serve wide range of menus that can represent Indonesian food well from the foods, drinks, & desserts. The spices and seasonings were on brand although arguably not 100% exact as I assume it would be hard to find them in Hungary. But taste wise? SO GOOD. I have to give a big applause for the sambal because they are spicy and it caters to Indonesian tongue rather than dumbing it down. Just what I expect from Indonesian hospitality, everyone who serves us were nice and friendly. Feels like coming home when I came to this restaurant in the midst...
