Summary: I asked for the best courses, not quite what I expected...

Negatives: it doesn't say you have to self order at kiosk, but after I made eye contact that I'm ready to order, they told me that they don't go to tables and evers order needs to be made at kiosk - It's not stated anywhere the soup was salty - one can always add salt but making something less salty is pretty difficult beef was very chewy and far from tender - I asked which meat they recommend, the answer was unanimously beef (wrong choice)

Positives: the service is nice - probably a family business where they try to care about guest5 order was delivered within 15 minutes despite 2-3 other orders were ordered before me I like the smile on the package :) portion is quite nice

Recommendations: For a quick food when you are hungry it's not bad. In case you want something better, walk 30 meters to Em Oi Pho (you will sweat a bit during summer as the have no AC) but you will taste an authentic Vietnamese food.

Kao is like all other asian restaurant - not special and not offending, quite nice that you won't remember in a year.

Em Oi Pho is when you want something authentic but your order also needs to reflect this (don't order...

We're visiting for the first time from the UK. This restaurant is self serve style where you order and pay first at the cash desk. Then when the food is ready you collect from the front where you add condiments and cutlery before sitting down to eat or they do a takeaway service. This was the first time we came across a restaurant with such laid back style, but we liked it's quirkiness! The friendly front of house lady spoke very good English and the cooks in the kitchen we're all ladies too! The food was very good we had tempura prawns to start and my husband had the red curry and it was labelled as medium hot which was just right for him he's been to Thailand and he said it was very authentic. My egg noodles with chicken and a variety of veg was very tasty too. We ordered a tapioca pudding each not realising how generous the portion size was and had to ask to take away to eat later. So glad we did it was heavenly and we finished it all back at our hotel! We will try to go back before we...

I had high expectations walking into a 4.7 star restaurant with reviews boasting it to be "the best they've eaten outside of Laos/Thailand". I would say a borderline 3.5 stars but I'll round it up for the friendly service and honest cooking - the glass window to the kitchen probably made me like the food a little less when I picked it up. Though at least you see what you get. We ordered the grilled pork and glass noodles which were tasty for sure. I wished it was grilled meat over charcoal and the noodles were cooked over a real fire but unfortunately it's all done over electric plates. The taste is good, a bit on the oily side but I appreciate their openness to their cooking style and their attempt to bring Asian food to Budapest. The price? Cheap compared to Budapest tourist traps but if you know where to scout, this isnt the most budget friendly for the quantity...
