Sadly the rudest waiter (quite intimidating and aggressive when he messed up with no ability to accept same ) that I have ever met. This should be a 5star rating (excellent food and music/atmosphere with top quality musicians) and untill today it was our favourite restaurant to visit in Budapest every year on our holidays) but unfortunately we were informed at the end that we could not pay by tap or card (we were only told AFTER I asked for the bill). There is NO signage to state same, nor were we informed before we ordered. We had 2 courses each and a drink each. I have since been told this practice is Illegal in Hungary to not accept electronic payment. My partner had to go down the Road to the ATM in the dark at half 10pm to get out cash while i waited at the table. A woman on her own wandering about city streets in the search of cash. No apology, he wouldn't even let me finish my sentence/actually listen or hear me (the customer!) . Ignorant, agro man with a really bad attitude. Needs some hospitality and customer service training !! ATM was broken, partner came back and like some kinda joke was sent off in the opposite direction again alone, I was very worried this is NOT OK!!! No attempt was made to remedy their mistake or acknowledge responsibility. No sign of acceptance that it was their responsibility, their error. Not a bit humble. Avoid this place if you don't want stress and hassle at the end of the night. Such a pity it could /should have been a 5star review, and they have lost us and our family as customers forever. (Our family own an apartment across the street) not good enough attitude at all, very disappointing, left a bad taste and ruined the night we were both upset after. Felt totally scammed, plus a service charge my arse. If they were any good they ought to have been a bit humble, apologised politely, escorted her to the ATM it was that bloody simple, basic manners and...
Read moreWe came here and wanted to try some local red wines. Waiter came to us, I wanted to start ordering but after first word he just said “wait”. Went back inside and came back after a few minutes. My friend wanted a glass of Shiraz, when he didn’t understand she pointed at it in the menu. He brought her white wine. When she asked for the correct drink he rolled his eyes and after five minutes he brought her red. We weren’t even half way through when another waitress came to us with card machine and passively aggressively put bill on our table. We were gonna have more drinks but after this we paid and left. The only good thing about this place was the live music. But there are much better places in Budapest where they cherish...
Read moreWe were super excited to check out this restaurant on Sunday, but bummer—it was closed. So, we swung back on Thursday night, and wow, it was worth the wait! The Hungarian food was on point, and the live music was just perfect. We ordered the Lyon-style sirloin and the veal Wiener schnitzel—both were absolutely delicious! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, making the whole vibe feel chill and relaxed. The music was a big draw for us too—the pianist and violinist were crazy talented, and their song choices totally matched the dinner mood. With its classic decor and awesome classical tunes, this place is a must-visit if you’re...
