Considering the neighbourhood, prices are ok but definitely on the more expensive side. The food is good, my wife loved it I would say it was ok. It is a downside that many other places next to this has outside seating area and with that , smokers of all kind poisoning the air which moves quite slow or not at all as the street is narrow. Inside there is no air conditioning so up to you if it is hot outside . We split a pizza which was good, a bit burned one side but ok. I would say a bottle of tap water even if it is filtered by the claims of the menu, should not cost £2. Most places in western EU that comes free. Pricing wise it is up there with those places so it should follow other practices too. On the very left upper corner of the outside seating area there is a manhole, smelling quite badly, don’t sit there😂. If you don’t mind the pricing and want a good pizza it is a good place. Things served seems clean tools also. One thing though is the review card provided in the end of the meal and with the bill. I did not use it as I provide review when I feel it and not on the spot when you might be influenced by the...
Read moreAs someone who is passionate about pizza, so much so that wherever I go in the world, the first thing I do is check out the local pizzerias. I built my own 1m wood fired pizza oven and have spent a couple of years perfecting the true Neapolitan pizza.
When it comes to Neapolitan pizza, I’m a stickler for authenticity. The very first thing I look for is the cornicione. Circo have the right size, softness and air inside and crackle outside. If that’s right, 99% of the time the rest is right. Circo have it spot on. Beautiful “effetto leopardo” or leopard spots, just the right amount of charring or “punti di bruciatura”.
Excellent quality ingredients, the cooked ham is juicy and full of flavours, the sweet and spicy salami are melt in the mouth but best of all, it’s a simple menu with a dozen or so traditional pizzas. Nothing worse than a menu with dozens of options with ingredients that shouldn’t be anywhere near a pizza.
I’ve tried 6 different places in Budapest and Circo is the clear winner. Casual and friendly atmosphere, chatty staff and an authentic feel all about the place.
Highly recommend it for...
Read moreTotal conclusion: 1 star. Not worth going there.
Service: waiter rude ø, hardly spoke and was very inattentive. We were a group of five people, four children and one adult (me). When we sat down he past us several times without looking at us or welcoming us. Finally we got a table which was empty for at least ten minutes from the time we got there till we sat down. When we ordered the pizzas it seemed like he did not pay attention and hardly spoke a word. When we got our soft drinks and water he did not bring glasses. I asked him to bring glasses but after five minutes of waiting I stood up and got them my self. When the pizzas came he did not bring cutlery. Again I had to get them. In conclusion: horrible service...and now I am holding back.
Food: pizzas looked great but that is it. The dough was soggy due to too much tomato sauce and excessive cheese. Like eating a casserole. Conclusion: great looking but deceiving.Do not order.... does not match any good pizza anywhere... speaking of Naples style pizza.
Atmosphere: conclusion: super looking place but atmosphere ruined by horrible service...
