Our initial 9-night stay at the Pullman Hotel Budapest coincided with a 3.5-day Global Conference held at the hotel. This boutique-sized hotel boasts a central good location, within walking distance to most tourist landmarks, and a mere 10-minute walk to the Budapest State Opera House.
It was a pleasant stay, we were 99.9% satisfied with the hotel facilities and hospitality services provided by the hotel staff teams.
Petra at the Front-Desk Reception was exceptionally helpful during our check-in process in the early morning Sunday. Milan and his team at the hotel reception is friendly and professional.
Concierge team ( Peter and …. ) were consistently friendly and helpful.
Our selected guest room, an Executive King bed room on Level 3 provided with sufficient furniture pieces without overcrowded a small interior space of approx 28 M2. Sufficient amenities, circulation space for two people, a built in wardrobe, walk-in shower cubicle, single vanity, and separate toilet. Water pressure in the shower / toilet are good and efficient. Energy savings system with the guest room works effectively.
The high ceiling in our guest room xx20 type made a notable difference. It will even be better if the windows are larger / taller to capture more natural light into the room at all times. Unfortunately, this building is considered “HERITAGE” and was designed for the ex-owner of the “Hard Rocks hotel, prior to its new operation by All.Accor hotels group.
Buffet breakfast at Ground level was well-designed, promoting healthy eating. Good choice of food and its ingredients, good juices, bread and coffee.
We appreciated the attentive services of the staff and chef teams. Timne, the reception staff at the restaurant, was cheerful and welcoming during her early morning greetings.
Two guest lifts efficiently serviced the two towers, with reasonable wait times.
The rooftop bar, with limited seating capacity, was simple yet effective, located on Level 7, and featured a covered internal structure suitable for special events.
We would like to express our appreciation to Peter Stelen - the Reservation Manager, for his assistance with our direct booking. Peter demonstrated promptness, efficiency, professionalism, and friendliness.
Free in-house Wi-Fi works efficiently and effective at all times during our stays.
We are pleased to recommend the Pullman Budapest.

I stayed at Pullman Budapest from October 14-17 with my husband, elderly parents, and brother, booking three rooms (2 executive and 1 deluxe). We expected five-star service but were thoroughly disappointed.
First, there were no bellboys to assist with our luggage. We had to drag our own bags to the rooms, which was especially hard on my elderly parents. Why stay at a five-star hotel if they don’t even provide basic assistance?
Two of our rooms had no working AC on the first night. When we asked to open the windows, we were denied, citing “safety reasons.” Instead, they gave us a useless portable AC (see picture) that did nothing. And to top it off, there was no in-house maintenance. We had to endure a hot night and wait until noon the next day for help.
When we returned at 7 p.m., they claimed the issue was resolved, but the rooms were still uncomfortably hot. They offered a room change but only to a downgraded room, while insisting it was “the same tier.” And getting through to reception took multiple calls each time – the service was frustratingly slow.
Their idea of compensation? A complimentary drink. Seriously? A drink doesn’t make up for a sleepless night in a hot room. The reception staff was cold, argumentative, and completely unhelpful. Oh, and be ready for them to make faces at you when you request for something. Now that I think about it, maybe they were racist and didn’t like to serve Asians?
The WiFi was slow as well. My 4G worked better and faster than the WiFi.
On the day of departure, I booked a minivan to the airport through the hotel reception two hours in advance. When we reached the lobby at the agreed time, they informed us the minivan wasn’t available, and no one bothered to let us know. We had to rush and order two cabs, but reception had already booked two drivers from another company without our approval. These drivers showed up, yelling at us for "canceling" their rides. When I asked reception to handle it, they responded, “Maybe you should tell us if you want to cancel.” Well, maybe YOU should inform us when a vehicle you confirmed is suddenly unavailable!
Overall, Pullman Budapest was a nightmare. I don’t understand why others are giving this place good reviews. Avoid this hotel if you’re expecting five-star service, because you’ll only get two-star...
Read moreThe Pullman Hotel is incredible. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay during our Budapest City Break! Even from check-in, the reception staff were lovely and very welcoming - Tamas was wonderful - super fast check-in, our room was ready a little early, and we received a map of the city centre with the main attractions circled for us, alongside some tips and tricks for spending our time in the city. Tamas even helped us later during our stay with recommendations for the best thermal spa, helping with specific details regarding booking and his tips for when visiting. The entire hotel is stunning, brand new, and the decor is beautiful and super modern, both outside and inside - a luxury feel throughout, with a quiet yet super friendly atmosphere. Rooms are perfect, kitted with a coffee machine and ‘smart home’ features for all of the electrics and lights - using touch screen panels all around the room. Rooms are very clean, bed is super comfortable, TV is large and very smart (can hook up your device to the screen), and the bathroom area is simply perfect. Light up mirrors with a smaller magnified mirror for details, and separate areas/doors for toilet and shower - all very clean and well organised. All the necessary and luxury additions are available such as a hairdryer, towels, bath robes, bathroom products, ironing board and iron, and even a sewing kit etc. Breakfast is amazing, with a great variety of foods and drinks, even including a luxury coffee machine and dishes made to order. All the staff are lovely at the restaurant and bar, even cleaning staff, and again the decor is exceptionally beautiful through the entire hotel, giving it a very modern and luxurious feel. The location is perfect, a small walk to all city centre views and activities, and a short drive from the airport. The hotel is walking distance from all of our Budapest city break plans, which makes it an ideal location. I would definitely recommend a stay at The Pullman Hotel in Budapest, and we hope to stay again or even in the same hotel chain but different location! 110% recommend 😊 Thank you to all the staff...
