14 Reasons NOT to come here: My fiancé just VOMITED earlier tonight and now again at 2am for the SECOND time. 2. I had RECTAL DISCOMFORT even after visiting the bathroom. 3. The dairy product(s) used to cook our food with didn't taste fresh; perhaps due to IMPROPER REFRIGERATION 4. The chicken tasted old, as in EXPIRED (chicken doesn't age like wine, folks) despite their successful attempt at tenderizing it. (Both reasons 3 and 4 were enough to eat a bit due to hunger, but not enough to finish it--- we left most of that dish, Chicken Paprikash, uneaten. 5. My bread was STALE (I spreaded the bone marrow appetizer onto the bread, only to find out that it's old and has been air-exposed for an unnecessary amount of time) 6. There were small FLIES that repeatedly landed on our food while we were having dinner (or tasting our dinner, better said) 7. There's a SPIDER and a SPIDERWEB above the coat rack, next to where we sat. 8. The restaurant's bathroom (there were no paper towels, only reusable bath TOWELS, which was unsanitary due to public use (read about RINGWORMS and FUNGAL growth) 9. We were the first customers, coming about a quarter of an hour early to our reservations and took about ten minutes approximately/at most to order, but it took more than half an hour to get the ratatouille, whose chickpeas weren't that soft and the tomatoes shouldn't take half an hour to cook (it's the best dish from the three, but I didn't finish due to seeing something questionable when I was almost done eating) 10. The restaurant opens at 6pm for 4 days and is closed for 3 days a week, so this restaurant has from morning to evening to buy a pack of beef for its GOULASH, given that Spar (the food store here with multiple locations Budapestwide opens at 7am), but instead prefers to tell its customers that it ISN'T available instead. (I came on a 22-hour trip and my fiancé came on a 17-hour trip to Budapest and we made reservations and just wanted to try the Goulash (most famous dish in Hungary!) 11. The other customers are either distracted by the crowd when it's crowded or the music enough to not be able to notice these things and also they came when the days were longer back in the Summer and early Fall, and used a professional camera for their photos to promote this restaurant and I'm saying this because at 6pm, the restaurant was DIMLY LIT (NOT enough to take clear photos for prospective emphasis) and it's as if it's done purposely to make people with poorer eyesight not notice the DUST on the lamps, the SPIDER(S), the FLIES, and the SEEMINGLY DIRTY CONDITIONS, BOTH in the bathroom area and the dining area. 12. The SERVICE FEE here is the greatest we've come across (I know that almost all places charges a service fee, but is it really necessary to make it UNNECESSARILY HIGH (higher than a restaurant (will not name to avoid accusations of promoting it) by the famous river-viewing bridge that charges high prices for its soups). (This is not your extra voluntary gratituity.) 13. We had to ASK the waitress for enough utensils, which at other restaurants are usually wrapped in a napkin and neatly set for diners. 14. Inadequate attempt to make amends. The restaurant asked us what was wrong with the food that we barely ate it and both of us brought up our concerns without sugarcoating anything at the end; since we're paying for it, and I understand that the restaurant has "wasted" ingredients on us, I am not one of those frugal customers to be asking for a refund, but at least make us a replacement meal from well-refrigerated, unexpired, and uncontaminated ingredients. But instead, we were just offered a free dessert, which we refused. The great reviews and amazing photos from its previous customers led us to book its sought-after reservations and we cut our day short of sightseeing just to make it in time and left with our bellies unsatisfied and a sight we couldn't forget. Despite our first impression of its cleanliness, we gave it a shot, thinking that the food would outweigh the kind of environment we so unexpectedly...
Read moreI’ll start with praising the food. I had ribeye steak with mushroom sauce, sweet potatoes and grilled corn. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, medium to well done, rosy pink, it was stunning and tender. The sauce was a blast, I didn’t expect the textures and the beautiful flavors from wild mushrooms- porcini, it felt like they were previously marinated, all together with the steak and the garnishes, it blended everything in a superb and balanced dish. The sweet potatoes were creamy, sweet, buttery, beautifully put together with rosemary and the grilled corn added a sweetness that truly made the steak to stand out.
My husband had the Goulash with egg spatzle, the meat was tender and the taste was balanced, I find the dish really nice as it is, but for him, it lacked the substance, the creaminess, maybe a bit of butter and some more spices to the spatzle would enhance the dish, but it is a matter of taste.
The location is central, it has a really nice vibe, I enjoyed it. The owner was nice and attentive, it shows the effort and it gave me a family business vibe.
I am a simple customer, but from what I’ve seen, people would enjoy a bit of a put together place, modernized, for my taste and my liking, it was a different and special experience as it was.
Great taste, amazing music and the tables with the paper for drawing is a cute and fun touch.
Would definitely reccomend to people who are looking for something different and great food. The portions are also adequate, the prices are in...

When we arrived, we were shown a table right next to the door even thought had booked a table for two more than a week in advance. Already setting our expectations low.
Secondly, they advertised in their menu that they had a pheasant main with roasted sweet potatoes and beetroot cream. Unfortunately, this is not what I received. I received a dry pheasant with lumpy potatoes and leek, with a roasted plum on the side. When we told the server that we had potentially received the wrong dish, they said it was a simple mistranslation and they would fix the issue. Unfortunately, this mistake coupled with the fact it was not at all addressed anymore when we paid the bill was rather disappointing.
All in all, we will not be coming back anymore because of this mistake and the lack of the reaction of the staff on...
