I want to start off by saying the pigs experience was incredible. The mini pigs were beautiful, friendly and loved belly and back scratches. Canât fault the mini pigs. But the staff werenât helpful at all. Myself and my partner went early to grab a coffee before seeing the pigs. I asked for 2 oat milk caramel lattes, the lady serving me said they only had a little bit of oat milk left so will have to substitute for lactose free milk. I said we canât drink lactose free so we will have the one coffee with the oat milk you have left which was no issue it happens we didnât mind sharing a coffee. I paid 2450 Hungarian money for the one coffee. They didnât have change so I ended up giving them the extra 50 and said it was ok just to keep the change. As they were pouring the milk in the girl was looking at the jug and asked something to the other girl and she took the jug and said itâs fine, then made the coffee and brought it out to us. The coffee came in a clear glass and was curdled, my partner said oh it should be fine and gave it a stir but it was still curdled. He had a sip to see if it tasted ok but wasnât able to drink it (because it was curdled) My partner took it back to see what they could do about this and the lady said that they donât offer refunds at all and all they can offer is a lactose free coffee which we canât drink, they didnât even apologise. Once coming out of the place I checked online at their menu, and it says that lattes are 1590 Ft and an extra 200 ft for oat milk, so they charged an extra 700 ft for caramel syrup.. this all happened before seeing the pigs also so put a bit of a downer before the experience. But canât fault the pigs...

And when we were with them, they were so genuinely happy and playful. When they get big, they go to farms and sanctuaries to live out their lives.
So with that out of the way...this place is magical! My wife and I tear up thinking how amazing it was. Booking is a must. They talk you through all the rules to make sure the piggies feel comfortable and sign a contract accepting you understand them (again, good sign that their welfare is most important), and you spend 30 minutes upstairs with a group of little piglets.
We loved it so much, we popped by our last day of the trip to see if we could just take a peek...they were so accommodating and allowed us to go upstairs to have a look between sessions. The staff seem amazing and their love for the little piglets really shines through.
In short, from everything we could see this place is NOT exploitative, and really impresses upon people that piggies come first, not the customers. We will be coming again to Budapest and the cafe is top of our list for a...
Read moreTourists be aware. As a cafe, they charge 13% service, which is fine because it is clearly marked on the menu. However, when you pay, they also ask you to choose tips on the machine. It is probably my fault for not asking if the price has already included the 13% or not, but it did give me the impression that service was not included in my one cup coffee and therefore they asked me to give. I then chose to pay extra tips. My fault for not asking specially this, but I just want to say that it is a cafe, not a restaurant, for goodness sake. The practice of asking for more tips on top of already charged 13% is very misleading.
A point of reference. For the five days I stayed, all the dinner restaurants have included between 10 to 15% in the bill but they all made it very clear by announcing it when presenting the bill to me. None of them asked for...
