My recent visit to Ottimo, The Ritz Carlton's Italian restaurant, left me with a mixed bag of impressions. The ambience exuded luxury and sophistication, enhancing the overall dining experience. The elegant decor, soft lighting, and comfortable seating made it a perfect spot for a special evening.
The culinary journey at Ottimo was nothing short of delightful. The food was exquisitely prepared, bursting with authentic Italian flavors that tantalized the taste buds. Complemented by a diverse selection of drinks, the gastronomic offerings truly stood out and lived up to the Ritz Carlton's esteemed reputation.
However, the service was a major letdown. Despite the high service charge, the staff's attentiveness and efficiency were severely lacking. It was disappointing to encounter such subpar service in a place known for its luxury standards. The slow service pace was particularly noticeable, requiring patrons to plan ahead and avoid dining here if time is of the essence.
On a positive note, Ottimo's location is excellent, at the fashion Street and adding to the overall charm of the dining experience. The option for online booking is convenient, especially considering the restaurant's popularity.
In conclusion, Ottimo at The Ritz Carlton offers an exquisite ambiance and delicious culinary offerings, making it an attractive choice for a leisurely meal. However, the disappointing service and high service charge detract significantly from the overall experience. It's recommended for those who prioritize ambiance and food quality over prompt service, but be prepared for a slow-paced...
Read moreThis place has been recently changed into a Brazilian grill and steakhouse. I do not now what it was like before but it is pretty good now. They had the option of some experience instead of the a la carte setup which meant they would bring us 7 types of different meats as much as we asked for for a fixed price. We shared this experience all seven of us which was very enjoyable especially with the cocktails they had. The cocktails are very good btw, some of them are quite spicy, while others more soothing, but all of the ones we tried tasted good and they were not too shy with the spirits either. The meats included a wide variety, chicken, lamb, beef... They were all prepared very well, no complaints there. As one would expect in such a place, the waiters were kind and professional. On the downside, however, we did not appreciate them not telling us we will hardly have any time to eat the unlimited meat selection when we were ordering, in the end we just managed to finish before the kitchen closed at 9:30, but it would have been better if they mentioned that in advance. Another downside was the lack of any kinds of vegetarian options, although understandable from the profile of the place, but still a minus point. The price was not too high considering the location and type...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious and wonderful Hungarian food! I believe that Deák St. Kitchen is one of the very best restaurants in Budapest, and they have won a ton of awards which back me up on this opinion! I have been in Budapest for 3 weeks, and I have eaten at Deák St. Kitchen 7 times already! Yes, it’s that good! The authentic Hungarian food that you will find here is absolutely amazing — huge portions, tons of flavor, and everything is made authentically with nearly the same recipes that Hungarians have been using for generations!! Their charcuterie plate is filled with that delicious smoked Hungarian cheese that I can’t find in the USA, their pickled beets are deliciously fermented, and they even serve different types of mangalica — the magical fatty pork which is delicious and healthy and only available in Hungary! They also serve delicious korozott with your bread — which is the traditional Hungarian dish of cottage cheese blended with butter & paprika. So many other delicious items on the menu as well! I’m only naming a few things here!! They also have great service and a very friendly staff. Do not miss this restaurant if you are visiting Budapest!! HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE: Their dinner menu is significantly larger than their lunch menu, so be sure to visit Deák St....
