Petrol has a good selection of craft beers from some local breweries such as Fehér Nyúl and Horizont. The beer prices are standard, but the food is incredibly overpriced, especially considering the small portion sizes. 1100 HUF for 3 onion rings. 2300 HUF for 3 of the SMALLEST JALAPEÑO POPPERS I'VE EVER SEEN. The jalapeño poppers were good, but just SO SMALL. The brisket on the Brisket Nachos Plate was very good and tender, but the cheese sauce on the nachos was cold 😢.
There's an 10% service fee, which is stated on the menu (and is fairly standard in Budapest).
I have been back since my original review, and some of the prices have changed (gone up, but priced everywhere have gone up), and some menu items have changed, but I didn't try anything that I previously tried, so I won't say anything on that. I went back for their special Louisiana menu, specifically to try the fried shrimp poboy. It was actually very good. It was a bit small, and had a lot of tomatoes. I would suggest thinner/fewer tomatoes, as well as smaller and more shrimp (there were only 3 shrimp, but they were very big). The "poboy mayonnaise" was actually a sort of remoulade, which was a very pleasant surprise. We also had the sliders, which were also very good. Changing my rating...
Read moreWe visited today after seeing on the tram the other week. Newly opened and inside well decorated. They also have outdoor seating on the street.
Menu: Great selection of dishes. Ribs would have been another option but not on the menu.
What we had: Korean Wings, sliders, burnt end beans, Philly cheese steak and fries. The food was excellent and the wings were some of the best we have ever had. The skin was so crisps and the sauce moreish.
Drinks: Great selection of IPA and other drinks. The rose wine was very good.
Niggles: Service a little hit miss (friendly, took a while to get the sauce we requested and when playing put amount in before I had chance to check the bill) allow dogs to roam (maybe ask customers to put them on a lead), no option of sauces on the menu (we asked for ketchup but another sauce came). The beans were luke warm.
Overall: It would have been a 5 apart from the few little personal preferences (niggles). Some of the best food we've had in Budapest and good, well cooked food is...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. It looked so good. The food smelt excellent and looked great. The music was excellent and in keep with the theme. Unfortunately, it took over an hour before we couldn't want any longer for the food we ordered. We unfortunately had to leave having only had drinks. The manager was understanding of our complaint and put our drinks on the house. Apparently they couldn't handle the table of 16 that just sat down before us. However, we ordered first and people came in after us and got food, I think we were just forgotten about. Wouldn't mind the wait but it wasn't explained to us, we weren't asked if we wanted any more drinks etc there was only the table of 16 and only another few tables of two in. Still lots of space left. God knows how they manage when it's really busy. They should have more staff on a Saturday night. It was...
