Used to be one of my favorite bakeries until Saturday. I went in, waited about one minute for the staff to finish flirting with each other and pay attention to me, then they started serving the person who came in way after me. The hot dog used to be 2690 HUF. They started to charge extra for sauces (ketchup, mustard, mayo) and for pickles, fried onion etc now there is an extra fee, which they don't tell you at the counter. Price tag says 2690 ft. Hot dog with "extras" cost 3770 HUF, as I found out at the cashier, so you essentially pay 40% more for the "complete hotdog" which is absolutely ridiculous. I don't think this is legal to do in the EU actually. "Under the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC) and national consumer protection laws of EU member states, prices must be clear, upfront, and not misleading." I tell this to the cashier, she says sorry about the 40% increase, she will delete the surcharge, as the boy who served me did not inform me on the prices. I say thank you, great, and I made sure, I still want the "complete hotdog" I don't mind to pay, she said no no, it's all good, no problem, I don't have to pay extra now. 10 minutes later, I get a plain dry hotdog from the boy with broccoli head, I had to argue with him about the price, the sauces, everything, not very useful. The cashier earlier made sure she will communicate the issue to him. The guy finally apologized and then brought me the wrong order, drenched in mayo, even though I specifically said no mayo as I hate it. Not cool, very amateur and also not...

The very short-haired girl at the till is incredibly rude. Unbelievable the way she spoke and I guess she needs to look for a new job because she hates to be there. We wanted to order two coffees for takeaway and ask her to show us the takeaway cups so we could decide which one we wanted by looking. She didn’t want to show us and she said ‘Well one of the cups is that size and another one is that size’ We told her that we wouldn’t know by this can she please show us. Not in all Cafeteria is the same amount the S or L or any. Then she made an aggressive movement and dropped the cups in front of us showing an angry face. We chose one of the size and I asked her for my latte with a half-shot ( just getting the half amount of coffee from the amount what comes out of the machine ) She rejected it and told me they were not able to do it. She kept saying no and also she said that the barista wouldn't do it and he never does it ) We literally started to beg her it was so embarrassing because we are the customer who is paying and she rejecting a simple request. Feels like we should be happy to be there and just pay and you get what you get? Suddenly she said fine and she rushed to the barista and she hit the counter with the cup in front of the coffee machine and started to complain about us to the Barista. That’s when we decided to walk out. She was mocking us, being sarcastic and showing us negative mimics...

Amazing bakery with incredible pastries (worth the wait!)

Vaj Bakery is truly one of the best bakeries I’ve visited — Scandinavian-inspired and absolutely delicious.

There was a long line when we arrived, but it moved super quickly. The staff were friendly and efficient. It’s quite crowded outside, and there are lots of pigeons hanging around hoping for leftovers. But if you’re patient, tables free up pretty quickly.

I tried the pistachio croissant — 10/10, with a rich, intense pistachio flavor. The vanilla poppy seed roll blew me away — the combination was amazing, full of flavor with delicious vanilla cream and perfect dough.

One of my friends had the bostock croissant, and it was mind-blowing — another 10/10! And savoury one with pesto and dried tomatoes was guite delicious as well!

Coffee was good quality too, a nice pairing with the pastries.

A fantastic spot for pastry lovers. Crowded, but absolutely worth it for the quality...

This is an amazing bakery with wonderful products, they even have toilets and service is good. They deserve a 5*. But I am giving a 1 because of the smiley in the cashier asking for a tip. 1) We are not in the USA, don’t imitate, people are fed up of the tipping coaxing and abusing everywhere 2) your employees ( hopefully) get paid differently that in the USA where the base hourly is usually low and sometimes zero 3) It is embarrassing to be paying for your nice bakery and coffee products and to be confronted by the cashier and the screen requesting for a tip. She looks at you as if no tip % would be enough… I gave a zero, would have loved to give a 10% or 20% without the coaxing of a screen Trust your people products and service .. they are very good. People will tip! And find a subtler way to insinuate tipping Sorry and hope this was a constructive review
