Hraðlestin — Restaurant in Reykjavik

Went for Vegan Wednesday. The only good part about the Thali we had was the potato dish.

As for the other 2 "mains" that came with it, they were frankly disgusting. One was simply shredded cabbage and onion as far as I can can tell and the other looked like frozen veg in a poor curry sauce. Hardly main dishes.

The bread was very oily, the rice was a tiny portion and flavourless and the "onion bhaji"was rock hard.

This all cost around 6600isk! We didn't even have beers as we were told that they were 1700isk each!

Unfortunately we're not the type to complain at the time as we don't like to embarrass anyone. However, I regret this decision. The management should know that the meal was very poor. We literally felt ill afterwards.

Needless to say, I cannot recommend this...

I had read the extreme negative 1-star reviews but decided to try anyway. Good decision! As a Brit I'm very fond of Indian food, and I was not disappointed. My wife and I shared one of the set meals for 2, which was both excellent and good value. The starters were crispy and very tasty, and the sauces complimented them perfectly. The Nan bread was buttered and garlicky and great. They served a lot of food - we barely ate it all, and we left some rice. It came with two chicken curries and a cauliflower vegetable dish. After having lots of fast food, we were craving for some homely food , so we visited a nearest only opened Indian restaurant at the time (2:30pm).The chef was kind enough to serve ‘kanji’ - rice porridge, since I was not keeping well and my husband had masala dosa. I couldn’t resist the dosa aroma, so we visited again the next day to try it. And the brunch served was perfect!!!
