BEST fish n’ chips I’ve EVER had! Bless this red wagon in the harbor. I daydream about coming back a little toooften. 🥔💖🐟
Battered fried fish with tats is my favorite savory food, so I’ve had a LOT of F&C in my life from around the world. This place had the freshest and most “chicken-y” pull-apart-with-a-fork fish with the butteriest batter ever! This is my favorite F&C place in the WORLD now- I’m dead serious. They have a salt & peppers shaker + condiments station in case you think fish is bland. I always sprinkle a dash of sea salt and squeeze of lemon on my fried fish ;) I was happy to see they had Coke zero here as well.
The price is a little expensive and might throw you off however the meal is definitely sharable between two people. We didnt know this until after we ordered but the portion sizes were kind of huge! It was fried in front of us which was cool. My husband made the mistake of ordering two and we were STUFFED finishing it all. The fillet is very long and filling and they overload you a ton of chips. I jokingly asked my husband to roll me back to the hotel I was so stuffed, I took the most amazing restful nap after ever that meal. I was happy with the biodegradable utensils as you eat outside on a bench in the harbor. Id come here again and again many times over!
*I believe they are open seasonally so check their website/social media...

The friendly staff (Maciej and Sylwia) and commitment to quality make Fish and Chips Vagninn a standout choice for both locals and visitors...
Read moreTo be honest, more like 3.5*. The fish was absolutely tasteless. I do not use a lot of condiments, so actually could tell that the fish was not delivering other than protein. The chips were OK. The sauce for the fish, for an extra fee, that I eventually tried, was good too. The atmosphere was good, with the backdrop of the harbor and the crowd in line consistent with the cult following that the place has. With the prices in Iceland this was our only outing with a main dish that I can recall during our 2 weeks there. Was it worth it? Other than for the atmosphere not really. Maybe it was a good test telling that you should spend your money on food outings elsewhere...
