We ate there before and it was ok, but recently we got dishes with chewy, rubbery chicken, we left those dishes. I went to pay first anyway and after paying I quietly pointed out that the dishes were not edible. I heard "I'm sorry". After returning home I noticed that the bill was incorrectly calculated so I called. The owner said that there were some problems in the kitchen and that he would refund both the dish and the mistake in the bill. He even wrote this to me in a text message. I wrote to him that the incorrect bill had to be refunded, and for the inedible dishes that evening he would refund or not, let him judge for himself whether he should (although he himself said earlier that there were some problems in the kitchen). However, when he noticed that he had received a 1* from my wife right after leaving (he had had a 5* from me for some time), he decided not to refund the dish but the mistake in the bill. This Vietnamese restaurant was a real treat. The fresh spring rolls with shrimp were absolutely perfect—light, refreshing, and packed with crisp vegetables, vermicelli noodles, and juicy shrimp, all wrapped in delicate rice paper. The dipping sauce was the ideal balance of sweet and tangy, bringing everything together beautifully.
For the main course, I had the shrimp curry with vegetables and rice, and it was spot on. The curry was rich and flavorful, with a gentle heat and loads of vibrant vegetables that still had bite. The shrimp were tender and soaked up all the delicious flavors of the sauce. Served with fluffy rice, it was comforting and satisfying without being heavy.
Service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. If you’re looking for honest, well-made Vietnamese food, this place delivers. Highly...
Read moreVery friendly service and family owned business. I ordered Bo Ne, the steak came out Sizzling on a hot plate and was oh so tender. The crispy fried potato with a creamy center was to die for! My husband got beef pho. I tasted my husband’s pho broth it was quite delicious, especially on a cool Icelandic day! Both were very authentic, full of flavor, and reasonable to large sized portions. There were many menu options, not limited to only Vietnamese but also Thai, all of which looked and smelled really good, tough to narrow down to just one item. The owner’s family is humble, hardworking and friendly, we also enjoyed small conversations getting to know them with my broken Vietnamese. While there might a slight language barrier they tried their hardest to communicate. We hope to return again before we leave Reykjavik to get our...
