Really awful experience staying here. It starts before I even checked in. I requested an early check in via the online form they email you. Never heard back. I tried to call them when we landed and was met with “no agents available”. How are there no agents available? No option to wait on hold, just “better luck next time”. Ended up finding a hotel in Keflavík that allows a “nap stay”. When I arrived, I was not greeted. I awkwardly went up to the desk and checked in. They were confused by the dates I was staying, I had the reservation email pulled up and ready. The front desk was very unhelpful with and suggestions or advice for parking as well. The parking turned into a MAJOR problem that would plague this trip. The room was fine. Clean and had some amenities. The television did not work, which again, turned into a major inconvenience in a couple days. I ate at their restaurant the first night. By early next morning I was very ill and was unable to stray far from the toilet. It had to be their restaurant, as that was the only food I had eaten that day. I spent the entire next day stuck in the room, with a broken tv. I called to ask, and once again, was met with no help. Barely an apology by the man at the front. So I was sick and bored, luckily the internet was fine. The walls and floors/ceilings are so thin. You can hear what your neighbor watches on their (presumably functioning) tv. You can hear every footstep above you, and I’m sure the guests can hear every time you walk. There was constant construction directly out my window, so the incessant beeping of work vehicles prevented any real rest or relaxation during the day. There were constructions sounds and smells filling the room consistently. From there the trip was complicated, and the hotel only added to the stress. When you’re alone in a far away country, you depend on your hotel. You give them a huge sum of money, and trust they will provide comfort. This hotel did not. It appears as though there are many hotels in this area, and I would urge you to select a...
Read moreI came to Reykjavík For the Iceland, Noir Festival, and after most research chose Saga. I was told it’s relatively new, but they have a n elite, top flight organization. First of all, the people who work there are uniformly kind, patient, smart, helpful, and have a wonderful sense of humor. I wanted to go to a natural hot spring, and they set up a time for me. Then I got a call saying that I had to attend a meeting with a streamer. So I had to change the time. Saga changed the time. Then the streamer changed the meeting time. So I had to change my appointment again. Again, the good people of Saga never blinked an eye or batted a lash. They have to jump through many hoops, but they got me to the natural Hot Springs, and it was spectacular. The facilities were top drawer. I use d the steam room many times. There’s also a little cold pool for your feet. I am a former professional, soccer player and my feet are constantly aching. So it was absolutely glorious to go from the hot steam to the cold foot pool. The breakfast buffet was uniformly delicious and delightful. Fluffy pancakes, amazing homemade jam, scrambled eggs that actually tasted like scrambled eggs, all kinds of meats and cheeses and fruit. I found myself looking forward to heading down there in the morning every day. The room itself had an amazing modern tile bathroom. It was comfy, it was cozy, it had everything I needed. And it’s very economically designed so it seems clean and sparse and yet when you open a drawer inside a cabinet, there’s the coffee maker. I did have a problem with the TV, being in the TV business watching TV is part of how I make my living. We tried and tried, but couldn’t quite fix the problem. It caused me considerable difficulty. But when I pointed out the problem, and talked to a manager, they bent over backwards to make it right. I would absolutely stay here again without question. Thank you to everyone at Saga Reykjavík for helping me fall in love...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Reykjavík, and it exceeded my expectations on every level. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and exceptionally accommodating — always ready to assist with a smile and local insight.
The facilities were a major highlight. After long days of sightseeing in the Icelandic chill, we thoroughly enjoyed unwinding in the sauna, steam bath, and jacuzzi. These amenities were immaculately maintained and added a luxurious touch to our stay.
The design of the hotel is sleek, modern, and incredibly clean, creating an atmosphere that feels both upscale and comfortable. Every detail, from the lighting to the room layout, is thoughtfully curated.
A special mention must go to the breakfast – it was absolutely phenomenal. A generous spread of both hot and cold options, fresh produce, Icelandic delicacies, and great coffee made it a perfect start to each day.
The location is unbeatable: conveniently located next to the Icelandic Street Food restaurant (ideal for a casual, tasty bite), and directly across from Bus Stop #2 – The Pond, making excursions via bus tours incredibly simple and stress-free.
In summary, Hotel Reykjavík combines comfort, convenience, and class, all wrapped up with genuinely warm Icelandic hospitality. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to anyone seeking a refined stay...
