Box Bites Cafe — Restaurant in Bengaluru

My wife and I had to go to VFS office for visa application and biometrics. Our appointment was at 8:30 am on Oct 9, 2024 at the VFS office in Gopalan Innovation Mall. Our work got done by about 11:00 am. As we hadn't had breakfast, we thought we'll have a quick bite at Boxbites located adjacent to the VFS office. My wife is vegan, so we went through the list of sandwiches etc, but couldn't find anything that did not have either cheese or paneer or other non-vegetarian stuff. We then requested the staff, if they could prepare sandwiches without any cream, cheese or butter, to which they willingly obliged. We ordered a veg sandwich and a plate of momos. They made the sandwiches replacing the dairy with some vegan alternative (oil?). The sandwiches were accompanied by finger chip. There was a choice of fried or steamed momos - as we were uncertain as to which would be better, the staff offered to give 6 fried and 6 steamed momos. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

The staff were so helpful and courteous, that what started off as a quick bite extended to an early lunch and we ordered a rice bowl with a veg gravy (they replaced the paneer with vegetables) at our request.

We finished our lunch with a hot lemon tea / iced lemon tea. The bill for the breakfast and lunch came to a reasonable 690/- for two of us.

I'm writing this review specifically to compliment the staff for their courtesy and their excellent service. Three cheers to them.

A suggestion to the management - for vegans the vegetarian items can be made vegan by replacing dairy items with appropriate vegan...

Not worth the time to grab a bowl of pasta, quantity and quality is not up to the mark. Taste was pathetic, no salt, no white sause in the pasta + I paid extra for extra cheese. Billed for 286/- to value my own money I asked for take away, when they were suppose to ask me to pay for extra for packing, that's when I said the manager and gave him a honest feedback of how pasta sucked at thier place. He offered replacement of the dish half of what I paid...to which I asked for refund. Later I was packed the same left over pasta which I asked them to pack with little bit of extra pasta added to the bowl. Dine in or take away he asked, I said dine in, I was confused and getting late. However the food was packed and when I asked for replacement dish, the girl staff said they can't. Overall a bad experience in this place, not going to visit next...

I had been to this place while I had to attend the visa appointment. I placed the order twice with them as I was sitting inside the cafe for couple of hours. After they make money from us they won’t even allow us to sit for couple of more minutes. There were no customers in waiting. one more incident In front of me they also failed giving the bill for which an elderly man had to take their class. Pathetic cafe. Placed 2 different orders and they act as if we are sitting and begging. That too in front of other customers. Such a cheap behaviour by a lady staff who is wearing a waistcoat and acting as if she owns the cafe. I was not sitting for free. Pathetic cafe staff. Keep your sick attitude with yourself. If you can’t see your customer sitting after they finished the food which was ordered from your cafe then do not let them...
