Cafe Azzure — Restaurant in Bengaluru

Located on the terrace of a building right opposite the MG Road metro station, this place has an amazing view of the crowded roads around. Watching the metro rush by while you’re casually enjoying your hookah and sipping your indulgent shakes is a very common thing here. Yes, I did say hookah, and this place does serve some really good ones, or that’s what my friends say as I am not into it. Coming back to the ambience though, as the name suggests, the place is essentially covered in colours of blue and white, making you feel like you’re in the pristine land of Greece (the hookah helps that hallucination too :p). Even though it’s covered from the top, the sides are open for you to feel the breeze ruffle your hair and soothe your mind. You’ll find the place fully packed on weekends, and it would be advisable that you book a table in advance. In spite of being full and vibrant all day round, there’s a sense of calm all over the place. The service is good, and food doesn’t take long to be served even during peak hours. In addition, the staff is courteous and while most places require you to continuously call them to change the coal of the hookah, here they were paying attention to do so themselves.

Coming to the food, call me a pessimist, but I’ll start with whatever minute negatives they have and build up to the positives. Their sandwiches are decent, but I have had better, and therefore would recommend that you skip them. However, if you want to have something like that, why not have its close relative – the burger! While I’ve tried just the one, I liked it so very much. They have several options for burgers too and you can choose the one you like, or just follow my lead. Although most of their appetizers are pretty much available at most cafes, the taste is what differentiates this from the rest. One particular appetizer that I would definitely recommend is their Jalapeno Loaded Chicken Shots. I would be elaborating about it in the next section, but this boy deserves a round of applause for its sheer magnificence in making me drool whenever I see its picture. To wash all these down, they have an amazing variety of shakes which are again a must have. For the sugar crazy kids inside you, they also have a freak shake, which I haven’t tried but have on my bucket list.

Suleimani Tea (8.5/10) – Recommended. Simply put, this is black tea with lemon and sugar, and it just helps you mellow down into a nice vibe while sitting in the cool breeze.

Kit Kat Shake (9/10) – Recommended. Full of chocolatey goodness, the Kit Kat shake is smooth, crunchy, thick, cold and everything you’d ask for in a shake. Nostalgic, not just in terms of the ingredients used, but just what it does to you, that for some time you forget your problems and feel like a child with no care of the world.

Irish Cold Coffee (9/10) – Recommended. A lovely medley of sweet Irish flavour with the aromatic earthiness of coffee, topped up with everyone’s favourite whipped cream, it took us 3.25 minutes (precisely) to finish it off.

Jalapeno Loaded Chicken Shots (9/10) – Recommended. If you’ve ever had a foodgasm before, imagine having it again with probably 10 times the intensity, that is what this dish does to you. A lovely blend of jalapenos, chicken mince and cheese, this is so juicy, so succulent, that I don’t care if I am not able to try a new item here, but I will order this every time no matter what.

Cafe azzure, a cafe placed on the fourth floor which gives you an amazing view of the MG road, you can just think how MG road has changed and distinguish between what new things have come up and what old things still remain intact like that. 🇦The ambience of the restaurant is pretty good. It is simple yet gives a nice feel of Mediterranean theme. The restaurant is well fed with the natural bright light all day long. Their outdoor seating is where you can enjoy the most. A view where you can gulp down your shakes and eat food while viewing the namma metro pass by. The restaurant cab easily host over 100 people and seatings are pretty tidy too.

🇸The service at the restaurant is pretty good, eventhough there was huge crowd at the restaurant, they did provide the food items by 15-20mins. Although I still feel they must be more agile providing the mocktails and shakes since those took more time than expected.

🇫🍽️ What I ate ??? 🍕Cafe azzure special pizza ➡️ I hadn't seen a pizza of this shape all my life until then. The shape of the pizza here is so unique with lots of French fries placed in between pizza whose shape reminds you of a hollow star fish. The pizza was loaded with lots of sauce and cheese. The amount of chicken in them too needs an appreciation. Just loved this special shaped pizza.

🌶️ Jalapeno cheese balls ➡️ The jalapeno had a sure burst of cheese in the ball. The cheese balls were pretty good to taste. It was loaded with cheese and nothing else apart from that.

🐟 Peri peri fish ➡️ I loved the peri peri fish seemed to be fresh and the masalas added to them were perfect and tasted amazing. They were hot and spicy. A perfect seafood starter.

🍤Butter garlic prawns ➡️ The mixture of butter and garlic paste with the prawns were good. The size of the prawns were good and the quantity too was pretty high.

🥛Nutella shake ➡️ The Nutella shake was good. It was nice thick shake mixed with lots of Nutella in them. It was chocolaty all the way and I simply loved it. They also had a whipped cream placed on top of the shake.

🍹Granitas ( blackcurrant) ➡️ There were three varieties of Granitas among which I opted for the blackcurrant. The blackcurrant Granitas was good. The mocktail was loaded with crushed ice cubes and black currant syrup. Fortunately the crushed ice cubes didn't make the drink too watery.

🍋virgin mojito ➡️ It was a conventional mojito which was prepared well and it tasted good.

🥧Red velvet cake ➡️ The red velvet cake was a dampner, it was a total disappointment. It was like a normal cake added with powdered flavour.

🥞 Blueberry pancakes ➡️ The pancake again wasn't great at all. It was similar to a small dose on which the blueberry cream was spread on the surface. The batter must be more fine is what I felt.

All in all cafe azzure is one amazing place to relax. Hookahs are available too. Their food is simply amazing,the quality is maintained too. Their desserts need improvement, apart from that I don't see any sort of problems with them. Love the view which is on offer has you enjoy your food.
