Matteo Coffea has been one of those Church Street constants for years and for good reason. The moment you step in, you get that warm coffee shop aroma mixed with the buzz of conversations and the clink of mugs. The space is big by Bangalore café standards, with a mix of cozy couches, wooden tables and a few outdoor seats for people who like the city’s breeze.
The coffee menu is where Matteo shines. Their cold coffees are probably the most popular in the city, especially the caramel and mocha shakeratos. If you like something sweeter, the white chocolate mocha is worth a try. For food, the chocolate croissant and blueberry cheesecake are reliable picks, though on some days the bakery items can feel less fresh.

✅ Good • Excellent cold coffee options that live up to the hype • Spacious seating with a mix of indoor and outdoor choices • Free wifi and enough plug points make it work friendly during quieter hours • Right on Church Street and just a short walk from the metro station • Blueberry cheesecake and chocolate croissant are customer favourites
❌ Bad • Parking is difficult, especially on weekends • Service can be slow when the place is busy • Noise levels get high during peak hours, which makes it less ideal for work • Some bakery items can feel stale if you are unlucky with timing

Price Around ₹700 to ₹1000 for two depending on what you order
Local tip Go on a weekday afternoon for the best experience. You will get faster service, more seating options and a calmer vibe
Verdict Matteo Coffea is not just a coffee shop, it is part of the Bangalore café culture. If you want a strong cold coffee, a slice of cheesecake and a spot to unwind in the heart of the city, it is still one of the safest bets on...
Read moreWe r amongst the oldest customers of this place. It was like our second home kinda, where we went at least 4 times in a week coz we live far far off from that place but going there eating n drinking coffee n relaxing n reading book was an delight. But if u talk about it now, the charm has lost and many other ppl feel the same. We have gud old memories of our special four legged kid, whom we lost few months back with this place. Crowd has changed. Reserved tables are given only to a set of people only and no one can dare to sit on that specific chairs even if its empty for hours . This was never the case earlier . One day that particular chair corner was empty and we happen to sit on that but after 30-40 minutes the so called designated preferred duo men arrive and gave us stares and misbehaved with us indirectly so that we get up from our seats ….by crossing the barbed wire behind us which seperated the cafe with the another empty one, he crossed it and spoiled my jacket hanging to my chair with his shoe. We told him this is not the place to cross over as it wired m we are sitting here n you come in between us n try to cross over. He started screaming Santosh santosh…. Like we were some idiots. Anyhow , Coz of such set of duo, we have stopped going there as these men are lechers and sit for 5-6 hours continuous with a small bottle of water n someday coffee. I hope the owner reads it n understands wht exactly I’m trying to put in here. We have stopped going there…. Now I visit rarely ( like once on 2 months)coz of discomfort we feel there now. Something needs to be done...
Read moreMatteo Coffea has been one of my go-to spots, and the food and coffee here are consistently great. They have a well-rounded menu that’s perfect for an evening coffee with some snacks. I enjoy most of their drinks paired with bakery items, and their sandwiches are always a good choice. The pastas have been decent as well, making it a reliable place for light meals and coffee breaks.
The biggest drawback, however, is the service. It has always been quite poor — we often struggle to get the attention of the wait staff, and they don’t seem very responsive. That said, once the order is placed, the food and drinks usually arrive on time. Another downside is the network connectivity inside the café, which is terrible, and they don’t provide WiFi, so working from here is nearly impossible.
Despite these issues, Matteo Coffea remains a lovely spot to meet up with friends or enjoy a relaxed evening over a good...
