My husband purchased a 1/2 kg chocolate cake for a birthday at home. The cake was smelling sour the moment we opened the box lid. We tasted it and realized that it had gone bad..the taste was something like what a cake would taste like after 7 days in a refrigerator. We had to throw the entire cake in the dustbin. We took it as a one off incident and my husband again purchased 2 pastries from their Koramangala outlet after 4-5 days. Amongst them the chocolate pastry was good but the pineapple pastry had turned bad and was sour and smelling. Now never will we again purchase any cakes/ pastries from Calvin's after two back to back incidences. There are way better places...
Read moreThe foodie is us always finds the best of places to have brunches and this time it was Calvin's at Koramangala. As we entered, realized it was more of a desserts place. Nonetheless, we ordered Tex-Mex veg burger and Mexican Chicken burger. The burgers were accompanied by potato wedges and a salad. For a price of oddly 150rs each, the burgers were worth it. Service could have been a little quicker, somewhere we felt that our presence was barely noticed. For a small amount of money and a college group, it's a good hangout spot while being clean at the same time. Parking is tricky as this place is situated in a college junction. We would surely be back...
Read moreWe tried their death by chocolate pastry and the other one of chocolate flavour for which I do not remember the name. Both of them were delicious. I would definitely recommend this place if anyone has a craving for desserts. These people have a fair number of pastries and the other usual bakery stuff.
This is a cafe and the ambiance is pleasant and welcoming. Two wheelers can be parked without any hassle but parking a car can be a little troublesome. I do not know if there is any paid parking facility for cars anywhere.
They also take orders for birthday cakes and I think this is where the chunk of the revenue is...
