Dosa Voyage: Embark on a Crispy Adventure.
Recently, I have had the pleasure of dining at Hello Dose Master, a recently opened and a popular eatery in Basavanagudi for having Dosas. As it is located on the bustling roads of Basvanagudi and just opposite to the bus station, this eatery is mostly thronged during peak hours. I happen to hear a lot about this place recently via insta reels and Google reviews and that was the primary reason to be here to checkout their mouthwatering Dosas. I must say that my visit to this spot was an absolute Delight.
► Menu: Although their Menu is not that extensive, they offer a good collection of mouthwatering and tasty dosas. Few of the main items that they feature in their Menu are as follows:
Butter Sponge Dose - Rs35 Butter Masale Dose - Rs 50 Butter Plain Dose - Rs 50 Pudi Plain Dose - Rs 55 Pudi Masala Dose - 60
In addition to the above main items, they offer Special Dosas and sweets such as
Guntur Masala Dose Mysore Masala Dose Open Butter Masala Dose Champakali Mysore Pak Badami Puri Pineapple Halbai Ghee Pudi Idli
One highlight is such that they don't use Onion, Maida, Garlic, and Cooking Soda in any of their items.
► Place: Place is not that spacious as it is a small shop. They don't have dedicated seating arrangements and provide only 4 to 5 tables. Customers need to stand and have their food.
► Customer Service:
Self Service Make the payment at the counter and get your slip. Give the slip to the food counter similar to other Dosa spots Food got delivered without much delay.
► Food & Beverages:
We had the following items: Guntur Masala Dose Mysore Masala Dose Open Butter Masala Dose Ghee Pudi Masala Dose Pineapple Halba ( sweet) Mysore Pak Badami Puri (sweet) Ghee Pudi Idli
We liked all the food items that we have tried. My personal favorites were Guntur Masala Dose, Open Butter Masala Dose, Pineapple Halbai and Badami Puri. The masala filling in the dosas was sufficient and crisp. Guntur Masala Dosa is, in our opinion, slightly more spicy than Mysore Masala Dose. The Open Butter Masala contains an adequate amount of potato masala and Butter. Ghee Pudi Idli was also delectable and it was immersed in ghee.
In the desserts section, we liked the Pineapple Halbai. The portion size is good and the taste was sweet. Mysore Pak was normal only. Badami Puri was also good. It was something which I have not tried before. They do not serve sambar with Dosas and serve only 1 variant chutney ( Coconut chutney) as accompaniment.
In beverages, they only serve masala Chai and it was good.
► Cost Factor:
Pocket Friendly Most of the items are priced under Rs 100
Overall, I have had a pleasant experience in Dose Master and I would like to visit again in future. It is certainly an excellent option to have a quick breakfast when you are plying...
Read moreFood is very subjective! So is my review!!
I'm not sure why people find it so difficult to understand the basic meaning of food, idli is a staple food, with so many fast food joints coming up everyday, it is easy to say that customers like me have choices! I landed here at dose Master, coz my friends are very specific about food, quality, hygiene, quick service, they do prefer only places which is exquisite, and talking about dose Master, it's good! I dint know that it's very really challenging to serve your favourite dish with no side effects later.. I have understood that, whatever tastes too yummy to your tongue, will always come with digestion issues at your tummy!
The quantity- Enough size of dosa to keep you filled and yet lite on your stomach, so that you can have another variety or ready for one more,
The Pricing- affordable for people having an smartphone within 10k for sure!
We live in a world where we can afford to pay our traffic fines in thousands, and coffee with our friends in hundreds of rupees, yet think that ₹50/- for a dosa twice.. it reflects the mindset of people, i would say- it's better to eat at a place where you eat once, later you try again at the same place! And see how your body reacts! And again it's subjective whatever you have eaten from past 24hrs, not like i had junk and later tried here and start complaining that the food was not good, which everyone does..
And for people, i have seen commenting oily, bro this is not dry chapati, it's dosa, that proper texture, for that crispy crunchy bite, and for that golden colour from plain white dosa batter.. only people with some idea about preparation would know the effort.
And no onion, or garlic in their chutney or palya, and it tastes good!
This exclusivity can only be understood by a specific group of audience!
Commenting negative is easy! unless if i can do better..
And i would recommend this place, for people with open mind! Not a place for people who compare...
Read moreWell, Well, Well.. This Darshini is located in one of the most popular area of South Bengaluru. Many would be familiar with Basavanagudi and this is located very close to it. Though having many popular joints around this locality like UD, Dwarka, Naivaidya etc. this joint too is worth visiting. The butter sponge dosa is awesome, fluffy and easily gulped down because of it's softness which is served with butter. Surprisingly butter is placed on the palya (potato) than on the Dosa. May be I got it on a wrong place but the fact doesn't remain unchanged. It's very yummy. The Masala Dosa too is awesome as it's very crispy. Due to it's taste and size, one item each wouldn't be sufficient. We will crave for more. Somehow felt Chutney was not very outstanding but normal. May be others differ from my opinion. During the peak hours one has to wait for atleast 10-15 minutes for the Dosa's as it's very crowded. They have two large pans to prepare the dosa but still takes time. Having said about the taste I need to comment on the price too. I feel it's slightly over priced considering the size of the Dosa. Butter Sponge Dosa for a single piece will cost Rs. 35 and Masala Dosa costs Rs. 50 each. Since they do not serve any other item we need to consume both to satisfy ourselves. A person with a good appetite may end up having two sponge dosas and one masala dosa. There is an option of having idly too which is available at South Kitchen located exactly on the opposite side of this place. As this is located on the busiest main road, car parking is not possible. Sometimes finding parking space for a two wheeler too is difficult. Overall this is a good place for...
