As someone who recently revisited a restaurant that used to serve authentic Dum Biryanis, I have to say that my experience was quite disappointing. This restaurant, which was once known for its delicious and authentic biryanis, has now become just another biryani place.

One of the first things I noticed when I walked in was how empty the restaurant was. This was quite surprising to me, as I remember having to wait at least 20 minutes just to be seated on my previous visits. However, now there was hardly anyone around, which was a bit of a red flag.

The second issue was with the taste of the biryani. It used to be so flavorful and authentic, but now it was barely even reminiscent of what it once was. The quality of the ingredients seemed to have decreased significantly, and the overall taste was just not up to par with what I remembered.

The service was also quite disappointing, to say the least. It was slow and unresponsive, and it felt like the staff were not particularly interested in providing good service. All of these factors combined left me feeling quite disappointed, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant.

The location is really good especially since it's on a one way street. Parking on Thyagi M Palanivelu road is not recommended. Just turn on to Palmgrove Road and there should be plenty of space available. I didn't see any parking restriction signposts on that road.

There is a non-A/C dining area on the ground floor and if you go up a flight of steps to the first floor, there is an A/C family dining hall, but we didn't visit the first floor area.

We weren't handed over any menu as such. I presume most people are repeat customers and they know exactly what they want: we did too although it was out first visit. We ordered a mutton biryani and a chicken biryani. Both were nice. I like the long grain basmati rice that they use: quite aromatic.

The portion size is good: very filling. The chicken & mutton pieces were well seasoned, flavoursome and succulent. We thoroughly enjoyed the food.

The handwash area could be kept a bit cleaner and devoid of pests. There were too many flies.

The total cost for the 2 items was ₹680 which we found reasonable.

There is a notice next to the till that says no debit / credit cards or food passes are accepted. Either cash or UPI.
