Very disappointing experience at the Kebabs and Kurries restaurant! Unpleasant staff who were clearly frustrated and completely fine with letting it show in their demeanour. Not sure what was the reason for the churlish behaviour but that’s no way to treat your guests at a fancy restaurant.
We had informed the restaurant that this was for a birthday celebration clearly while making a reservation. This was confirmed once again over phone ahead of the meal, and the restaurant had promised to arrange a cake. Shockingly not an iota was done to make the meal memorable, even after committing to do so over the phone. Forget the cake which was completely omitted, at least wish your guest knowing it’s their birthday? Instead we were greeted with cold boorishness and dirty table mats.
The food although exorbitantly priced was very average with a few items being either completely bland, too salty, or just over-spiced. We had the chicken shami kabab, mutton galawati kabab, paneer tikka, machhli tikka, and lotus stem chaamp. Of these only the chicken shami was able to redeem itself followed by the machhli tikka. Everything else was below average.
The most shocking thing about the meal at this restaurant was a metal ball in the food that luckily none of us ingested. It was spotted as something shining on the plate and what we thought was something edible turned out be anything but that. The way the restaurant manager behaved when we brought this up was was also a revelation - he first denied, then accused, and then with great difficulty apologized. An incident like this is what can get any major restaurant into deep trouble, and Kebabs and Kurries should have been more apologetic for sure.
The staff here need to be retrained, and perhaps they could head to The Oberoi to understand the importance of courtesy and attitude if they are choosing a career in the hospitality business. The chefs could do with a primer too, and maybe eat some of what they are dishing out to come out of their hubris. Not to mention keeping a close eye on quality which was amiss too.
Deeply regretful experience, despite attempts made by some of the kinder staff members to remedy the situation. They did their best to make amends but unfortunately by then the damage was already done, and not something that can be undone so easily as experiences and memories can’t be erased, and this was not a charity but a meal and experience that...
Read moreI don't know how I missed reviewing this amazing and exclusive place for authentic Indian food experience.
I almost have visited it 4 to 5 times and still want to visit to try more from the menu.
The vibe of this place is very traditional which always tunes to beautiful classical music and the lighting gives you a perfect dining experience. The staff is very hospitable and even recommends you good options and even tell you the portion size incase you get excited and try to order in bulk .
I have tasted their : tandoori chicken ( very tender and juicy inside and super smoky from outside)
Galouti kawab ( for me,only place which serves the authentic version) with warki prantha
Dum pukht mutton biryani which wasn't at its best this time as the mutton wasn't too pink and tender as compared to my last 3 visits.
Must try their dal makhni ,it's their signature dish
Fish Tikka was fresh and nicely spiced. In desserts, try their Shahi tukra
.. one more thing was missing today, there was a power cut of around 7 to 8 minutes but none of the staff came to explain 😕 but it was only this time
The portion size could be considered less if you are going as a family ,like 3 pieces of galouti for almost 2k but I think they always share that with you when you are ordering for more than 2 members.
If you are a fan of authentic food then this is a must try but remember authentic foods could be heavy on your stomach so make sure you go with the...

While I haven't personally visited [Restaurant Name], I feel compelled to address the concerning trend of paid reviews that seem to plague its online reputation.
It has come to my attention that [Restaurant Name] is engaging in unethical behavior by soliciting paid reviews on platforms like Google Maps. This deceitful tactic not only compromises the authenticity of customer feedback but also deceives potential patrons who rely on these reviews to make informed decisions.
It's disheartening to see businesses resorting to such malpractices instead of focusing on delivering genuine quality and service. By artificially inflating their ratings through paid reviews, [Restaurant Name] is misleading unsuspecting customers and tarnishing the trust that should exist between businesses and consumers.
I urge anyone considering dining at [Restaurant Name] to exercise caution and skepticism when interpreting online reviews. Genuine feedback from real customers is invaluable in shaping our dining experiences and supporting businesses that uphold ethical standards.
Let's stand together against deceptive practices and demand transparency and integrity from the establishments we choose...
