From the moment I stepped into Nombre, I felt something special. The ambience strikes a perfect balance between cozy and refined—plush seats, warm lighting, subtle music, nothing overwhelming, just enough to let you unwind. It’s the kind of place where you can sit for hours, lost in a book, chatting with friends, or just people-watching.
The coffee tasted like it was made with love. Every sip brought out rich, deep flavor, with good body and just the right balance of acidity. Their espresso has punch without bitterness, and their latte carries a creamy smoothness that doesn’t overpower. Whether you like bold brews or gentle notes, they seem to have mastered them all.
The food, likewise, was a delight. Simple but thoughtful. Fresh ingredients, beautifully plated, with flavors that complement rather than compete. The pastries were light and flaky, the savory dishes had that perfect seasoning, and everything came with an attention to detail that showed pride in what they serve.
What makes Nombre stand out isn’t just the coffee or décor, it’s the warmth. The staff are welcoming, attentive (but not hovering), always ready with a smile or a suggestion. It feels like a place made by people who love what they do, and want their guests to feel good.
In short: a gem of a café. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick pick-me-up or settling in for a lazy afternoon, this place doesn’t disappoint....
Read moreI want to start off by saying that this café has immaculate ambience and vibes. But that is where the niceties end. First and foremost the customer experience is very poor and we were made to wait for a long time before our order was even acknowledged. I had ordered a raspberry cheesecake which tasted more like a bakery commodity item. Neither did it have the texture or flavour of a properly baked cheesecake. I was particularly drawn towards the Ethiopian beans selection for pourover option. But I was left extremely disappointed because the drink was very poorly made. There were no floral or fruity notes which is what Ethiopian coffees are known for. The taste somewhat resembled a poorly roasted Robusta. To add insult to the injury, they charged an extra 150 rupees for the pourover. The milk beverages are scalding hot and it ruins the drinking experience for the customer. Speciality Coffees are meant to be served at temperatures not exceeding 65 degrees Celsius to maintain texture and mouthfeel. This review is not meant to demoralize or tarnish the reputation of the café in any way. This is my personal experience and opinion. But I sincerely hope that the owners take time to read this review and view this as a constructive criticism. Last but not the least, I see very good potential for this café and I hope to return sometime soon and have a better experience the next...
Read moreI’ve had the pleasure of visiting Nombre Café several times now, and it has quickly become one of my absolute favourites. I still remember walking in on their opening day as one of their first customers and ever since, I’ve been completely hooked.
What makes this place even more special to me is its location. It stands in the very neighbourhood where I lived nearly ten years ago, and every visit brings back a flood of memories. To see such a thoughtfully designed and soulful café thrive in that area genuinely makes me happy.
Their Orange Mocha deserves a special mention it’s simply exceptional and has been perfected. The food too is consistently delicious, with evident care in both preparation and presentation.
But beyond the coffee and food, what truly sets Nombre apart is the warmth of the people behind it. The staff and the founding team create an atmosphere that feels deeply personal and welcoming. Every visit feels less like stepping into a café and more like coming home. It’s a place where you can comfortably spend hours whether working, reading, or catching up with a friend.
A heartfelt note to Anusha, the co-founder your kindness, humility, and attention to detail shine through in every aspect of this space. Thank you for building something so genuine and inviting. Wishing you and the entire Nombre team continued success and many more...
