This place is thriving just on the name ‘pizza’ and not the quality of it.
Neither are the people serving you interested in taking helpful advice. More so, they are quite rude in a polite manner. Eg. they’ll force you to sit out even when there’s plenty of seating available inside. Why? So that people outside see you and flock inside this so called pizza bakery to drive up their sales through pathetic service and food. You are forced to sit out while they disappear into thin air acting busy and not taking your order for a decent amount of time.
Anyway, let’s have some banter about the food. Sourdough pizza my foot. Don’t get me wrong, they might be doing something to the dough for it to be extremely hard, tasteless and cool when ‘fresh’ out of the oven. Yes, you read it right. Pizza served cool even though fresh out of the oven. Why? It became cool while bringing from the oven to the table. Food aggregators bringing you pizza to your home have warmer pizzas than this.
Does it taste good? Well, the first time at this outlet, was a good experience and taste, which made us come back. Oh boy, regret doing so. The second time, the above mentioned points had been done. Garlic bread had the name garlic present in the menu but taste absent on the bread. The only saving grace for them, is the aioli with the supposed ‘garlic’ bread. That is lip smacking. But then again, oil is fat and fat is flavour. Minor adjustments and oil turns out great.
The four cheese pizza was cool out of the oven. Chilli oil on the second occasion, had some flavour to it. Margherita pizza on the first visit was delicious. Chilli oil at that time, was just red oil. Garlic bread, it’s just dough stuffed with onions. Warmer than the cool pizza though.
Inside, it has nice artwork and nice to be in. But again, would you like to go to a restaurant to have a great environment with pathetic food or a good environment and great food? They levy a service tax of 5% on non-existent and rude service. Price is fine comparatively, but they jack it up with the optional service tax and mandatory taxes.
Definitely the last time at this Sanjaynagar branch.
Wouldn’t suggest you to go, but if you do, at your own perils to accept...
Read moreI was at this pizzeria for a cheat meal on a Sunday afternoon. It was a sound environment and the vibe of this restaurant was admirable. The waiters were quick, active, patient and kind. The dishes were also being pumped out of the kitchen in an impressive time frame of maximum 8-10 mins. The food on the other hand was quite flattering, considering we are in Bengaluru and we are getting to savour fairly nice Italian cuisine. Their stuffed garlic bread with sun-dried tomatoes and Popo's veggie delight pizza are absolute non-negotiables. However, not everyone may like their hummus with grilled chicken and pita bread. It was the kind of dish which set its standards above average for me. I didn't try the chicken topped pizzas here as I wanted to stick to traditional Italian roots. Probably will give it a shot on another visit. I had ordered their Italian pepperoni and Pig out pizzas and as I said, they were above average. I did trip a little by opting for a burrata as an add on to the pepperoni and it didn't go well. I take the blame. If you consider adding on a burrata, pair it with a spicy pizza to balance the flavours. That'll be the unbeatable combination. Nevertheless, I used the burrata only for the crust and had the pepperoni pizza as it was served. There was no compromise on the quality of ingredients in the dishes which were served. Overall, a very few handful outlets serves out such good Italian dishes in this city. The menu pricing is on the slightly expensive side, which is justified by the gourmet-fying. If increased any further, it wouldn't be reasonable and not all class would be able to afford and savour the delicacies they'll offer. Thank you for having me over. Until next time, hopefully :) Signing 📴,...
Read morePizza Bakery used to be a good place to eat but their standards have gone down. I'm lactose intolerant, so I used to order their Vegan Truffled Funghi Misti. After a couple of times of having that pizza, I realised that every time it caused a stomach upset. And the stomach upset was worse than me having a normal pizza with cheese. Don't know what additives they put in the vegan cheese to make it tasty.
Another time, I ordered a pesto pasta. The pasta I received didn't taste, smell or look like it had any significant amount of pesto. It tasted of nothing. I asked for more pesto and they said it would be chargeable. That was quite outrageous because the pesto pasta was expensive. Pizza Bakery in general is a bit expensive. I paid for the extra pesto and only then did it taste good.
When I was placing the order for the pesto pasta, I asked the server what item was available without cheese. They suggested the Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli. Ricotta is a cheese. That's one of the main items of the dish and that was suggested to me. This clearly shows that no training whatsoever has been given to the staff about allergies.
This place always played music quite loud. So I didn't like that.
The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the items I had, did taste good. But it tasted good only because of god knows what additives/taste enhanchers they put or because I had to pay extra for one of the main ingredients of the dish. I will not go back...
