SkyDeck is a really cool place that plays fab Bollywood and English music, with a small open space next to the DJ that acts as a dance floor. The quality of music of course depends on who is playing, and the DJ really sets the mood of the place. Depending on where you are seated, the music can sometimes feel a tad bit too loud.
The place is also located at a very convenient location, and easy to get to via the metro as well. Itās also on the top floor, and has a bit of an open space so thereās always a breath of fresh air naturally flowing through the venue. This is much needed and maintains the freshness of the place unlike some similar themed closed pubs in the area! The ambience too is very comfortable and relaxed with a western pub theme mixed with a bit of modern setup, it goes really well with the vibes and will instantly put you in a fun zone! In fact, this could be one of those places where you can come with a gang of friends to let your hair down and have a good time !!
The food is alright. The veg menu didnāt have anything special to boast of, however the ghee roast items were quite tasty. They do have an elaborate menu, and non veg folks can really dig into some well known dishes - again I donāt think they had anything as a āhouse specialtyā but the regular known dishes that are well prepared. They serve select pork and beef dishes, and also have seafood in addition to chicken and mutton. The bacon was ok, and the Bangalore style chicken kebab was yummy! Also, donāt forget to try the pizzas! They were surprisingly good⦠The tandoori items can surely get better but overall the food is okay. They also have a variety of desserts and these are surely a must try!
The staff is courteous and very helpful and there are bouncers inside to manage the crowd so overall everyone can have fun and feel safe. The service at the place can surely be a bit faster but maybe itās the large crowd that hurts the pace of service. Overall, itās decent.
There are a range of beers and alcoholic drinks, including cocktails , wines and mocktails⦠so yeah! Ample opportunity is available to knock yourself out!! The beers were good, and yes, the whole place is a smoking zone (I think). The prices are decent and as expected in the area. Some folks like me may even find this a tad bit expensive too, but for the service and location itās probably worth.
In summary itās a great place to enjoy yourself and have a good time. We really enjoyed ourselves and surely coming back again.
PS: Those if you expecting some brilliant view of the city from the top floor, please donāt. You will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited SkyDeck by Sherlock's located right on MG Road, diagonally opposite to MG Road Metro Station, towards Brigade road entrance. After almost couple of decades later I was visiting a pub on MG Road. This place SkyDeck is a fabulous and must visit pub for those visiting MG Road area with friends. As mentioned this place scores on location first and then very tasty eating items in the menu. The Open to blue sky sitting area in the pub - with high rise table and chairs - with a view of overlooking - MG Rd Metro station ..is awesome. As the evening sun sets and night descends.. one get to see illuminated Metro chugging along - in and out of MG Rd station is very nice and sets a selfie mood. The Chef Sunny - prepared some mouth watering signature starters for us - Guntur Chicken, Ghee roast Chicken n Fish and Shrimp delicacies. As there were no supply of draught beer, bottle beers of various brands available. The music was not very loud unlike other pub joints...The big screen TV provides entertainment of some sports and music channel news. I was told during pre-Covid times, this place used to attract jostling young crowd. However it is probably now half or less than that crowd now. I loved the early evening time if 6.30 pm at the SkyDeck, as it gives you to lovely transition of bright evening into a lovely night. Ofcourse if it rains - it will be a mess - as half of the place will be shutdown. But there is a covered VIP lounge area in mezzanine floor.. that can be used for parities etc. Another good point is thete is a reasonable basement car parking so that you can drive into basement area directly from MG Road (driving from Brigade road junction from Shankarnag Theatre). Overall it is an excellent place for Pub parties...location wise as well as tasty food items wise. I will be definitely visiting this place more often in future. š I encourage pub goers to visit and enjoy the vews and hospitality of nice staff and tasty food....what more reason...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe pub is very much visible to MG road besides metro station. They mention it a roof top though no good view is seen as we have building or construction work going on near by. As you enter the parking space in basement you have to park in Sky deck's parking because building shares the parking space with other properties there. They charged us 40 Rs. for two hours as you will never make it within two hours(I will tell you why) You will wait for lift which most of the time is stuck and very slow. We reached the pub an hour late(resereved at 8 PM and there were no other options to choose, reached at 9 PM) for which they said they donot have table available and will be held only for 15 mins after booking which is no were mentioned while you are booking. We had to pay 1500 to enter(which will be settled with your food/drinks). They stamp you their logo on hand and let you in later which you are not allowed outside else they will torture you again to enter. Do order the food and drinks as you enter because they will serve you an hour late after ordering. The veg platter was not much good, but yes try hot jalpeno gritters, they are tasty. The paneer jalfrezi gravy and mushroom gravy were good enough, rotis and phulkas are also good. Noodles were tasty. I tried death by chocolate cocktail which was very nice. The mocktails are also good. The concentration of alchol is low so you donot get high soon. You can dance for sometime after ordering as they serve you late(due which you really cannot leave within two hours and you will pay extra parking charges). The dance floor is not much big, it is very small space in which many people struggle to dance if there is more crowd. As smoking is allowed its tough to stay if you are not a smoker. Music was ok which will get lower by 12 AM. The cool breeze makes you feel better. Overall it was a ok experience for me, I gave two stars for taste of food. The service should be taken care of...
