Goutam's — Restaurant in Bidhannagar

I went there for a meal with my friend. We sat inside and were waiting for someone to give the menu. After 10mins of waiting a person comes and I ask for the menu card, and the first thing he says is ki "it'll be late". Am like.. Okay atleast give the menu. It was as if they didn't wanna serve. After getting the menu we decided to order the veg fried rice and chili chicken. But by then the man was gone. I had to get up and call someone to take the order. After he came, we ordered the desired items. And it took them eternity! To bring the food. I mean how much time does it take in a ready to eat cafe? 15-20 mins? But naah. They took more than 30 mins to bring the food. Now, after so long I would expect a fresh hot meal. But naah! The rice was cold, maybe luke warm. And the chicken felt like two-three days old which has just been heated! We were hungry so we munched the food without any word. Also, the guy saw we were 2 persons and he brought just one plate. I asked for another, and it's expected ki he would serve the food. But again, naah! He just kept the food and left!! After finishing, we were waiting for the guy to bring the bill. Again we had to wait 15 mins! Just for the bill. Mind you it was 3:50pm then, the place was mostly empty, just us and another couple. 4 - 5 workers were outside chatting away, without even having the courtesy to ask if we needed anything. I had to go and tell them to send the bill and then wait 15mins for it. Overall, very BAD experience! Very CARELESS and UNATTENTIVE behaviour on their part. The food wasn't good enough. I paid ₹350 for that and I expect it would be standard, warm and fresh. I'm NEVER visiting the place again! They should just close down if they don't...

Being polite and friendly, and spreading love to all the food lovers, as per the ambience I was very happy to be in Goutam's. A food joint I have been hearing for years and seeing the crowd in their Duttabad place.

Personally, my experience was not a good one. The presentation was the first point out, they served us in small thermocol disposable plate and plastic spoon and fork, which I haven't expected.

While speaking on the food, the presentation have already dominated our mind, the food was so-so. The Veg. Mixed Schezwan Chow that was served was most probably stale and was served after heating in the microwave for a minute or so. It was warm not hot. The Veg. Fried Rice was ok. On coming to Chilli Paneer, something exceptional happened. The portion was much good in terms of quantity than the major dishes. The waiter who was serving us don't know why? But he suddenly became energetic and started speaking in English and a bit responsible towards us but while taking payment he don't know how to swipe debit card.

I must tell that they firstly don't know how to deal with customers, how to handle customers in a proper way. Their way of behaving with customers is very much rude. I ate in Goutam's several times but my recent visits in this place was so worst that I can't be able to describe. They say that their lunch hours is 2 hrs. In general, the other restaurants who are worried for customers to make their own profit, they always try to bring positivity in customers so that customers get satisfied ultimately. But here in goutam's, the waiter at first does not know how to treat with customers. The staffs are awfully careless and reacts like an over smart.
