Bade Mian ki Kheer Old Kheer Shop — Restaurant in Delhi

The taste of their kheer was something which I've never come across anywhere else. The texture was smooth, the creaming on the top and overall softness was worth paying Rs 85 (250 gm) for.

You can easily reach this place. The google maps shows the right location and it's just situated adjacent to the main road which leads to Chawri Bazar Metro station.

I also had the luck of hearing a sher from Salim Ji. If you visit during evening you'll find this shop mostly empty and can easily talk to them. Learn more about how they developed their name over so many years.

It was founded in 1880 and till date is at the exact same location when it started out. The warmth with which they treat you is commendable and probably because of which their name has stood the test of time.

The kheer quality was at par with the price. It has got lot many quantity sizes boxes which you can carry for your family and friends as well. Sharing is caring!

We can make kheer at home also. But 140 years of experience is what makes bade Miyan ki kheer special. Nearby Hauz kazi police station and 10 min walk from chawri bazar metro station, it will not disappoint you. Prices at Rs 40. Their menu has kheer only and nothing else. Come here after 12 pm as they start cooking kheer at 7 AM roughly after Fajr Namaz and it takes 5 hours to continuously stir the combination of milk, sugar and rice in a iron kadhai and convert it into kheer. This place in chawri bazar is very famous for its one special kind of sweet i.e. kheer. The kheer it served is extremely very delicious. Worth trying for once.
