Filthy place and over priced shop hyped by food blogger’s nothing special as they say. Tried their Kuliya chaat and fruit chaat after looking at the fly’s and mosquitoes sitting on their stale buns and bhaji on the tawa. Thought that fruits and salad might be the good option to go with and thats what they are famous for. But, as expected it was the worst fruit chaat ive ever had anywhere. Not only the quantity they serve in the price is low but they overpowered and kind of bombarded their masala on the 5 pieces of fruits and killed the original taste that should come. And also it was not like any special masala or spice mixture the one they used to have in old school days “ 2 rupay ka chooran” and every one kind of loved that chooran. They are using that one. Coming over to #kuliyachaat the worst one it was also same but the pieces are 8 including 1 medium sized boiled potato and same size cucumber hollowed to make a cup like thing and all the pieces they were chunky that you cant even handle properly and just few pomegranate seeds in the so called cup or kuliya and topped them with the same masala or spice mix or 2 rupay ka churan. It was so much masala that you cant even identify the pieces of fruits that you are eating unless its in your mouth and after having the top layer of masala dissolved it reveal itself and then you came to know that you were actually having a piece of cucumber after travelling hard and paying 100 bucks for this “overpriced” and thanks to #foodvloggers #kuliyachaat is not at all like anything to have. And the best thing is that the person at the shop or owner himself knows it very well and on asking about the price and the hype they were like “hum kya karein, log khate hain to bikta hai” Wow! Kind of enjoying the drama.

Read moreI've eaten here twice and tried two things. Will edit the review when I've had more. I'm a tour guide who brings foreigners to try the kulliya chat here and its not surprising that they don't like it much because of the fruit chat masala we use. But on my part, I was astonished with the creativity they put in making this fruit chat. Could someone ever think of making a fruit chat look so interesting with fruits cut in the shape of bowls with pomegranate seeds filled inside them. I found it more creative than scrumptious but they have put a fair price of 100 bucks on it too which I think is quite deserving considering the effort. Another dish I tried was tikki and yes it tastes good but they don't serve curd in it which is quite bad to be known by a tikki lover like me. Serving tikki without curd should be declared illegal. Besides its a very small shop with little or no space to sit and eat. So yeah, the real street...
Read moreHira Lal chat corner is a very old and popular chat shop in Chawri Bazaar, it's located on a walking distance from Chawri Bazaar metro station. They have very limited variety of chats like Most famous Kuliya ki chat, Aloo chat, Aloo Tikki and Pav bhaji. But their most amazing thing is legendary Kuliya ki Chat, it's a fruit chat they cutout the inner part of various fruits like Pineapple, apple, Water melon and many more and fill the empty portion from their special Masala, chickpeas and pomegranate seeds. I'm not saying it's a die for but you can try it for something new atleast once. Their Aloo Chat is equally good and flavours are simply superb.
This is a very small shop and you have to ask nearby people if you are new to old Delhi Chawri Bazaar area. Pav bhaji is also good but not the best but their aloo chat was amazing and Kuliya chat is something...
