ShellBeacon Cafe, Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Delhi

The menu here consists of various sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, all day breakfast and so on. They also have a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including coffees and teas, smoothies, mocktails and more.

We were here for a brief break, and ordered a cappuccino, a watermelon mojito and a strawberry cheesecake. The order taker had to go out through the main door, to somewhere else to fetch our order. The mojito and coffee came within ten minutes, but the strawberry cheesecake took a long time and several reminders: very strange, given that it couldn’t have been made last-minute, and even serving it up (it was readymade, in a bowl, unlike any cheesecake I’ve had before) wouldn’t have taken long at all. That said, the cheesecake was very nice.

I wouldn’t go back here, even though the place itself was quite charming. The way our food and drink was brought, uncovered, through the street outside, made me wonder how much dust etc would have...

The atmosphere of the cafe is pleasant enough. But both of the dishes I ordered were very sub standard. First of all, the steamed momos were chewy as if they came from a frozen package. The vegetables inside the momos were also sticking together, which shows that they came processed, rather than freshly chopped. But most surprisingly of all was the salad that came next. It came with quinoa and barley which were so undercooked that I had to constantly chew them with my teeth. I finally gave up and left them on the plate. I regret not having sent the dish back to the kitchen. When I got up to leave, the server was right near me. But he didn’t even look at me, thank me for coming or say goodbye. He just ignored me. So I don’t think I’ll be coming back to a place where both the food and service were...

Needed coffee in the morning and no place seemed to be open. Found this quaint little spot and started out with a double espresso. Took a couple selfies which I never do but couldn’t pass up the ambiance. Ended up ordering the Buenos Dias Spain breakfast and it did not disappoint. I was not expecting the mashed potatoes and beet root side to be cold so Initially I didn’t eat them. Only the omelette. My host; Ankush Sharma, was extremely concerned that I was displeased. I explained that there was no problem it was just that I preferred all the items be hot and he immediately asked if he could microwave the plate for me and I was grateful as the flavors were on point even cold.
