It's all about Gluttony at Tablespoon, TBSP (Tossed, Baked, Smoked and Plated). We recently went for an Italian lunch at Dlf Avenue Saket and who else serves any better Italian and American food than Tbsp. A Chic gourmet bistro coming from the house of YumYumCha,
This kitchen-cum-dining Yellow Bistro offers the vibe of a happy and hip canteen.
Popular for their Half n Half Sourdough pizzas, flavoured can sodas, fresh salads, handmade pastas, delectable grills, hot skillets and finest desserts, the food at this place is wholesome and tastes Delicious. We started with Mocha Cold coffee and it was one of the best cold coffee in town. Creamy yet light, it is poured right in front of you to an XL Coffee Mug with coffee ice cubes to make the whole experience aesthetically delightful. It was a refreshing start. This was followed by A DIY Mexican Chicken Tray which had grilled chicken cubes served with mini tacos, jalapeno, queso, sour cream, guacamole and salsa. Loved the freshness of the sides and the crunch tacos that elevated the appetite.
Next we ordered Portobello Mushrooms and Aglio Olio Prawns and I must say that they took my palette for a ride to Italy. The gorgeous Portobello Mushrooms with spinach and spicy rub cooked and served on a bed of creamy sauce was cooked to perfection. Something I will highly recommend to try if you like mushrooms. Coming to sea food lovers, the prawns were mouth melt-in tossed and glazed in Aglio olio, garlic, herbs and chilli. It just couldn't have been better than this preparation. Loved it and I am so gonna go back to feast on these delicacies.
Coming to the most talked about Italian Half n Half Sourdough pizzas, one cannot miss to try and relish each bite. Made from fresh yeast dough that requires 3 days of starter to base preparation, tbsp serves you best and freshly tossed pizzas. We opted for Half n half Pesto and truffle and it was a treat for the eye to watch and tongue to relish. Topped with a generous amount of pine nuts, rocket leaves on a bed of Pesto and truffle Mushrooms on cream on the other side, this combo was sheer bliss and tasted heavenly. I gobbled 3 slices and trust me you can have all big 6 slices by yourself as this won't let you stop at one.
I Paired it with a Cucumber n Basil Sparkling Soda for a quick flush of my palette and it turned out to be a delightful and refreshing drink with no added sugar and cut cucumber chunks and basil. They have ample tempting options in their Can Sodas which I am going to try very soon.
With almost no appetite left for dessert, we couldn't help ourselves leaving without tasting the temptations and ordered an Espresso Crack Creme Tray. It looked so much like an espresso and was a subtle amalgamation of espresso coffee, vanilla, cream chocolate and savoiardi.
We had an Amazing, Gorgeous and Sinful Italian meal and need to come back here more often to explore the rest of the menu. Loved everything about this place, right from the quirky decor, to Lip Smacking food and Drinks and warm hospitality. Cheers to...

Located in plus dlf avenue, the place has kitchen themed interior with rustic decor and offers most exotic and fresh preparations with minimalist approach. The menu is very interesting and have some Extensive choices in dishes too.Wether a luncheon or a coffee meet, the place is apt for both. They have interesting pop cans to pair with your food like raspberry soda, cherry cola and i tried their creme cola which had vanilla and creme and the taste had childhood nostalgia back. We started with Mexican chicken tray.It had wonderfully curated d.i.y style tacos with grilled chicken, jalapenos, quesa, sour cream, salsa and guacamole. The dips were so fresh and the taste was so amazing. It was followed by Mocha cold coffee latte, which again has options of coconut milk or almond milk.Freshly stirred on the table the mocha ice cubes and milk give such a heavenly ombre effect forget the euphoric taste alone. Next dishes were Prawns aop,had herbs and chilli with aglio olio and garlic.Again fresh prawns and amazing taste of herbs with garlic and generous olive oil. Following Prawns we had stuffed mortobello mushrooms. This is the best mushroom dish I've ever had.Along with 685,creamy sauce and spicy rub the mushroom cakes had this amazing texture and taste that i can visit this place again just to have it again. Its highly recommended. We tried their half and half pizza namely truffle and pesto as we wanted to taste the fresh pesto and truffle both seperately. We tasted the pizza and their dough was so good and different and we learnt that it takes 3 days to process and done by the chef's to reach each stage with perfection. The pesto was so fresh and retained the crunch and pine nuts and rocket leaves complemented the taste while truffle had mushrooms and cream and was melting in mouth. Marking the end with sweet note we opted for crack cream Espresso with coffee, vanilla, cream and savoiardi. Crackled and dolloped and savored in seconds, the dish had perfect proportions of caffeine and sweet content. The playbof textures with crispiness and absolute jelly beneath, this is something your tastebuds will crave for afterwards too. Overall an unmatched place for people who love fine Italian and American preparations, extensive menu and some great coffee...
Read moreTablespoon is an experiment by Yum Yum Cha, and for the same reason I gave it a try. The place is located on the ground floor of DLF avenue mall Saket in the restaurant area. We got a table as the place was not too busy on a Tuesday.
Ambiance: The place has high tables and open kitchen concept so you can see the chef making pizzas around you. It is a well-lit restaurant; my only issue was the cutlery they using it was steel plates and somehow, they had placed small steel bowls with it on the table. The same was something I have never seen in an Italian place ever and was a bit weird for me.
Service: The staff is nice and friendly, though the only thing is which I have seen in yum yum cha as well they want to take your order the moment you sit. We were waiting for a friend and the server came to us thrice in 10 minutes to check if we were ready to place an order. I had to tell him that we will call him once we are ready as we are waiting for someone, then only he stopped.
Drinks: The place does not serve alcohol, which was a disappointment for me. But the lime coke was nice that they served in their own packaged can. The other drink that I could try was the cream soda which I didn’t like.
Food: The menu is one of the most confusing menus I have seen, they had Italian, Mediterranean & BBQ. We ordered:
Flank Steak with a side of Cheesy Potato Gratin: The steak was very average & Cheesy potato which were the sides came after we had finished the steak and in that too the potatoes were under cooked.
Double Peperoni Pizza: This was a good option the pizza was tasty and nice, and I also tried the add on crust dip with it Aglio Olio which was a nice.
Sun Dried Tomato Casarecce: This was a big disappointment the pasta was served and the same was covered with sauce (Gravy) which for me a big no, I had to ask the server to make it again which they did. But the taste of the same was not that great.
Cost: Cost for our meal was 3222 INR which is decent for the location, but the food was not that great if I compare to the cost.
Overall for me this was a big letdown, from the confusing menu to the half-cooked potatoes it was not something that I would visit this place again for. It seemed like an experiment kitchen and concept to me not something that one would expect from Yum Yum Cha as their Asian restaurant is one...
