We have been visiting Big Chill for many years now. Every visit to Delhi must include a meal at Big Chill. To avoid waiting for a table we reached Big Chill at the DLF Mall at Saket early. For me the selection of what to order at Big Chill is almost templated. Piri Piri or Quatro Cheese pizza, veg penne pasta in tomato and cheese (pink) sauce and a salad. The meal is not complete without Banana Strawberry smoothie for me, and may be lemon ginger drink for others, also served by the pitcher. To top up the meal, a wedge of Banhoffee Pie for dessert is an all time favourite and a winner hands down. It must be mentioned that it would be prudent to order a single portion of the dessert for 2 people, even though you may be tempted to order another serving after the first bite itself. It's out of this world and totally sinful. All this to eat, of course, is too much for a single person and would suffice for 2-3 people. The pizza, thin crust or regular, is served piping hot which adds to the overall experience of cheesy aroma, blended with that of herbs. The pizza, Piri Piri this time, is delicious. The pasta too is to die for. Just enough garlic to give it the right punch without overdoing it. The pasta was served al dente in a nice pink sauce with vegetable also just firm enough to bite. The salad with a variety of greens and a good drizzle of dressing was fresh and crisp. Pieces of feta cheese added to its flavour and overall appeal. The Banana Strawberry smoothie is not a drink; it's like a heavy meal for those with less roomy stomachs. Smooth enough to be just about sucked up with a straw, not over sweet, with equal and blended taste of the fruits and granular texture from the strawberry, the smoothie, available in other combination of flavours as well, for me is a must have. The Banhoffee Pie, with its crusty bottom layer of crushed McVities Digestive biscuits (once I did confirm this from the local manager), with a healthy layer each of caramelized condensed milk and pulped banana, topped with a thick coat of whipped cream, and a something of twisted chocolate planted on the cream, makes it over the top delicious, satisfying and sinful. Its a winner any time! After every visit to Big Chill I always wonder how I find my way back to the parking lot and drive home. Drowsiness sets in fast. Good to have a 'designated' driver for the...
Read moreBig Chill will always be close to my heart as they offer class apart pastas and pizzas. This time I tried few more items from the menu.
So let's start:
Location: Big Chill is right in the heart of South Delhi aka Dlf Mall saket. Don't know about boys but for girls I'm sure this is the mall they often visit for SHOPPING. So perfect location.. you can easily reach here. 5/5
Ambeince: It has a very unique and nice ambience. They can actually expand the seating are a lil more so that it looks a bit more spacious 😉 You can also enjoy the view of Select sitting by opting for an outdoor seating. (Depends on the weather not on your mood😂😂). 4.5/5
Food: They have varities... Anything and everything you can think of in Itakian is right here. RED SAUCE PASTAS is out of this world. I have never been to any restaurant which serves pasta better than Big chill .. kudos team ✌️❤️ I started my lunch with a GREEK salad. It was delicious. Mostly people think salads are boring but TRY this.. it's amazing.. Then I ate RED SAUCE pasta about which I have already mentioned above. And in the last my favorite CAPPUCCINO COFFEE.❤️❤️
7/5 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 4) STAFF: Trust each and every word of mine "BEST STAFF & MANAGEMENT I HAVE EVER SEEN"✌️✌️✌️ 6/5❤️❤️
To the management: You have a wonderful staff and they are doing a really awesome job. Everyone is polite and treats their foodies with respect. Assistant Manager (Mr. Tejinder) is a very polite person. When I went to big chill as usual it was almost full. Only few seats were left and the staff greeting on the entrance offered me the seat right next to the door on insisting the AM MR. Tejinder that i don't want this seat he agreed and gave me a decent place where otherwise 5 people he could have accommodated.
Yes, please treat all your staff well and hope they get a promotion soon😂😂😂
P.S: Kevin is doing a wonderful job at Big Chill. On asking his name he was shy.. hehe and felt a bit weird.
SO OVERALL ratings are : 5/5
I would love to visit this place again and again And looking forward to review new outlets of BIG CHILL (if they are planning to open any in NCR or Lucknow...
Read moreOk...so the incident happened today(18 May 2024) was something which left me in shock and disgust. I visited their store around 4 pm with 2 of my friends and enjoyed a beverage. I suddenly realised that I am not carrying my wallet. I quickly enquired from one of the staff members regarding the acceptance of UPI payments and I got a positive response. I was relaxed and enjoyed the beverage. Upon done with the drink, I asked the people to get me the check and the QR so that the payment can be made. Their link was down and none of the POS machines were working leaving me ina horrible, insulting and embarrassing situation. After trying for a couple of times...the money got deducted from my account and I showcased the same to them but they were adamant in their approach and told me" sir, aapke account se payment kar gayi lekin humein nahin mili...hum iske zimmedar nahin hai" and started misbehaving...I told them to wait for 5-10 mins that it will reflect in their account but they gave it a deaf hear...leading me in an uncomfortable space infront of my friends.
I asked them that if the UPI is not working then why was I not informed earlier...they had no answer...I asked them about the wifi connection so that the card machine could function properly but the response was " we don't have a wifi connection. And I ended up paying the amount in cash while taking the money from my friend. So in total, I made a double payment as I got to learn that the UPI payment was reflected in their system.
I want to know who is going to compensate for spoiling my image and misbehaving by the staff of the big chill cafe.
I was told that someone from our senior will call you but the day has ended and have not received any response from them.
BTW...this cafe is in the posh mall of South Delhi's saket area called DLF Avenue.
On one side, our hon'ble PM is promoting digital payments and on the other side...I have shared the ground reality...still feeling...
