Mandi House Arabian Restaurant — Restaurant in Hyderabad

Mandi House has opened a new branch in Banjara Hills and we were invited for a blogger’s table for which the review is as below

The ‘Zurbiyaan’ is a Yemeni dish similar to the Indian Biryani or Arabian Mandi. It is believed that this recipe originated in Aden City, which is famous for its distinctive Zurbiyaan. The ingredients are colourful rice, seasoned lamb or chicken, and potato. This dish is topped with thin slices of fried onions, nuts such as almonds, peanuts, and raisins. The ‘Mushakkal Mandi Platter’ is served on a long plate consisting of tandoori prawns, juicy mutton, Tawa chicken,haryali kebab in a long metre plate loaded with veggies, mayo and chutney.The ‘ Mandi ’Tawa Chicken’ is a spicy appetiser charred over the Tawa, flavoured with regional with regional spices served with mayonnaise and green chutney. ‘Haryali Chicken kebab’ is another Mughlai with coriander chilly pars and tandoored to perfection goes well with tandoori roti and green veggies. ‘Murg Malai Kebab’ is another Mughlai preparation rich in malai, spices that is creamy and delicious. ‘Murg Banjara Kebab’ has spicy boneless chicken with full of spices and marinated in yoghurt, herbs, ginger, garlic, chilli, coriander leaves and spices. The ‘Bahrani Halwa’ is filled with ghee and dry fruits and a perfect end to the delicious meal.

Found cockroaches in our Mandi.

We ordered kebabs and waited for the Mandi to come for atleast 45 minutes. When that came, first thing I noticed after taking a bite or two is this cockroach sitting on it. I told the waiter about it and he nonchalantly says he will replace it lol! I said I don’t want anything from here and called the manager who was apologizing and asking to get us another one. How is that a fix for this? The whole kitchen is absolutely disgusting and wonder how many people eat cockroaches here on a daily basis without even realizing. Someone else in the reviews complained about the same thing.

Please do not waste your time and put your health in jeopardy by coming here. The worst part of it all is he made us pay for the appetizer!!! Absolutely ridiculous. While telling us he is so ashamed and asking if there is anything he can do, the least he could do is have us not pay for the one appetizer we had ordered. But he was like yeah we will serve you a cockroach but take money from you as well. Ridiculous. I called the health department and I hope they shut down this place!! Happened to visit this place located in Banjara Hills Road Number 1. Located in the same building as CreamStone, this place is easy to locate. The place is well done with neat interiors and is well lit. The restaurant has both Table seating and Mandi type of seating and can accomodate about 120 pax at a time. The staff here were polite, well trained and know the food that is served in their restaurant and are quick with their suggestions.

Coming to the Food, they serve typical Arabic Food. We started with Chicken Mandi Platter 4 varieties of Chicken starters priced at 1499/-. The chicken was either over cooked or under cooked with a couple of them having high Salt. Personally felt this was not worth the price. Next up was Special Mutton Zurbian Mandi. This one was a definite show stealer and a recommendation if you are here.

For dessert, we ordered a Kunafa but it didn't have the look nor the taste as desired.

This place has a lot to offer with prime location but service and food service wait time...
