After getting fried in the hot udupi sun, we decided to step into this unique restaurant to have lunch. The first thing you will notice when you enter this restaurant is the beautiful tulunadu culture illustrated brilliantly on the walls. And this immediately creates the ambience of the restaurant. You might very well absorb all the tulunadu culture and salivate while you wait in the queue for your turn to get a chance to relish the food eventually.
Food is served in ancient vessels made of clay, copper and bamboo. The plaintain leaves that you eat on also go for composting. They have ensured everything is eco friendly.
The lunch that we ordered was a combination of boiled rice, fish curry, cabbage vegetable, prawns dry chutney, raita. We ordered bangude fry, disco fish fry, prawns ghee roast. The chilled butter milk served in clay cup is a must try.
They have a limited but awesome menu, which also includes nei patre, which gets served only from 6pm onwards. So we had to give that a miss. But seems its a must try.
The pricing is very reasonable and the food is all flavour and exceptional.
The only thing that disappointed me was the way tables were cleaned. The leftover rice bits are simply swiped onto the floor and this was strangely followed by all the table cleaners. The only reason why i have given them 4 stars. Also, parking for a four wheeler is an issue here as the road is narrow and leads to the main road. So plan...
Read moreA good place for fresh and tasty fish. The meals costs here Rs.50, which is slightly higher than other famous fish meal restaurants but it is totally worth it, here they serve tasty curries and dry fish as part of the meal. I tried Chicken Biriyani here, which I found to be their hidden gem, it was much less oily than what I had in Thimmappa or Machli, it is a must try - you can take half CB for just Rs.90 here. The fishes here are really fresh, I ordered Anjal Tawa Fry it was so fresh and juicy it felt like butter, it melts in mouth like White Pomfret, the size of Anjal is visibly bigger and so does it justify the cost of Rs.250. They serve butter milk cold and it is a clear winner among other chemical based soft drinks. The staff here is very kind and friendly. Since it is located on 2nd floor of the building, for those who cannot climb stairs, reaching this place would be tedious and there is also a big parking issue for this place. Other than these, overall a very good restaurant and I am...
