Tried out Infinit on Bangalore-Nilgiri Road, Mysore, Karnataka state, India recently. The restaurant, Infinit is actually within Hotel Roopa, pretty close to the Government Suburban Stand, Mysore. There is also an old movie theatre somewhat opposite and nearby. Roopa also has lodging options with varied types of rooms and amenities. There is a reception in the ground floor.
Take the elevator to go upstairs for Infinit's fabulous Lounge Bar and restaurant. There is a roof top dining service, apart from the outside service provided which is just outside, once you get down from the elevator. There are some magnificent displays and creative work in the open area dining of the terrace.
The outside service starts at dusk with lights lit up. I was not able to try the outside experience since I reached the rooftop restaurant quite early around 4:00 P.M. During daylight hours, you get to enjoy a great view of the natural "true green" vegetation, apart from a bird's eye view of the beautiful Mysuru city landscape. Once, the sun sets and it is dusk, you get to see a mesmerizing view of the illuminated Mysore Palace, besides the Chamundi Hills.
Once you enter the roofed restaurant, you would notice a bar counter adjacent to where you are seated. I did not really see anybody sitting there and drinks could very well be ordered and served at your respective tables, if you preferred. There is a big screen wall mounted television which was continuously updating us with all the current political turmoil on the local Kannada news channel, if you cared. There were no English programs or English news turned on which I would have rather been interested and understood.
There are Service Captains, apart from regular waiters who tend to the tables and at times, partly served some of the dishes ordered. I was attended by one of the captains, Manjunath, I believe, who was very professional, patient, attentive and caring. There was a bit of a wait, since everything seemed to have been made from scratch and served fresh and hot! You could just chill and I took some snaps in between and made use of the time, I was waiting for my food.
I ordered Plain Naans for a change instead of Garlic ones, which came in pieces, apart from Murg (Chicken in Hindi language) Makhani, besides the Seafood soup. Manjunath was kind enough to explain to me of the spiciness as well as also informed me of the portion sizes of other items. The soup tasted great and so was the Murg Makhani and the Naans, an ideal combination for the curry. They serve Kerala fish curry, which I have heard is great apart from Chicken Biriyani, Chinese, Italian, American and other oriental cuisines. Drinking water was never served until the very end. I requested it to the person who mainly took my order and he seemed surprised. It would also be confirmed whether you preferred mineral water which I didn't order.
I would suggest that they overall update their inside restaurant granite tables, as it has an old look. It would also make sure that the tables appear cleaner. There is a separate area, a bit cozy as it seemed to me to have either birthday parties or any other get togethers. It's slightly away and separate from the dining tables. The wash area and the restrooms were a brief walk from my table through a narrow dark passage.
Infinit offers great food and quite a good service with very affordable rates for the dishes, you order. They accept Debit and Credit cards, apart from cash payments. If you wisely order consulting your Service Captain/Waiter, you would not even have to waste any food and get full value for the money you spend, depending upon whether the dishes are cooked well? I would still highly recommend the wonderful ambient outside dining service where you could also enjoy some colorful night view, the sky lit up with stars, besides the light breeze and of course, the free fresh air. I hope to try...

Read moreThe rooftop restuarant, coupled with ambient lighting and beautiful night sky makes for a lovely place to enjoy dinner. The soup and starters were good, the main course was just about average. We tried Chicken Manchow Soup, it was spicy and the fact that it was served piping hot made it even better. Masala Papad, French Fries, Baby Corn Crispies, Chicken Lollipop were all good . The Mutton Pepper dry though tasted good lacked meat. The main course is where it all fell apart. The Butter Kulcha were a bit dry, the Lal Maas was very salty (though they replaced the curry, we had already finished our dinner by then). The Prawn Biryani lacked any kind of prawn taste (bad quality prawns, not worth it at all). The Mutton Biryani was average too. We did enjoy lovely Virgin Mojito. Its a nice place to dine. I assume some other items on the main course may be better than...
