Hotel RRR Restaurant: A Rip-off of an Experience My recent visit to the restaurant at Hotel RRR in Mysore was a stark reminder that a name is no guarantee of quality. I came here solely for the dining experience, and what I found was an absolute disappointment—a place that is shabbily unhygienic, overpriced, and operates with a shocking lack of civic sense. The "overpriced" label isn't just an opinion—it's a fact. For the complete lack of a pleasant dining environment, the indifferent service, and the general air of unkemptness, the prices they charge are an insult. The taste was mediocre at best and certainly did not justify the high cost. To put it bluntly, the entire experience felt unhygienic. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. The reputation is an illusion, and the reality is a tasteless, overpriced, and frankly, disgusting experience. Note :- flush in washroom won’t work and surprise awaits you there🤮.

Non AC, it is a big hall full of tables and the seating arrangement is very old style. AC room is the same. We had ordered chicken biryani and chicken meals. Biryani was just OK. Not that great. Chicken meals was a costly disaster. Just 2 chicken items. One dry chicken 64 whose flesh was old meat. Curry was diluted lacked punch and spices (looked like cost cutting at the cost of poor customers). The price is a whopping 380!! There was constant argument and loud talking between servers and order takers. Overall it was a forgettable mess. Probably our first and last time visit. Incidentally we had ordered another delivery (swiggy) from the Original (you know who) in the evening and the taste turned out to be super delicious!

This is not ORIGINAL RRR - Be careful it’s a SCAM restaurant.

This is a SCAM gang who are fooling tourists. Their scam starts with the name itself copying one of the legendary hotel of Mysore. Their modus operandi is to put their people in the parking lots of palace, zoo etc. where these people manipulate your driver when u r away, seeing the place, to take the vehicle to their restaurant offering him some commission. So your driver suggests you to go to this restaurant and also based on your google search which shows original RRR is the best hotel to eat, you will automatically decide go here. Once you go to restaurant you may also wonder why one of the best hotel of mysore is empty without tables filled and if you question if this is the RRR hotel they will try to run away without an answer. Once you are seated they will recommend you to order so many things saying it is the specialty of the house. Food taste, quality or the total feel is no where near the original RRR. Then when u get the bill u will be shocked to see how many quantities u have eaten bcoz their scam is in the No. of quantity. Next when you question 4 people sarround you and convince, not in a polite way, that you have eaten that many quantities. There is an arrogant girl at the bill desk who thinks you should pay what ever the bill she has printed bcoz she is right and we are wrong. Then when u paid the bills, the guy served you come to u and demand tip by saying “I have served you well so u have to pay me tip”. This is enough to show the bad culture of this restaurant. Even if you go here pls do not order mutton dishes as you will only make more fool of you with bones in addition to the fool they are making you. Even though I visited mysore many times and the original RRR hotel, I was mislead by my driver. Please avoid this at any situation. Also I wonder about 5 start reviews given, may be it is also one of...

They have a clever marketing strategy — placing their card on my car while it was parked at the Mysore Palace during lunchtime. And yes, we fell for it. 😊

At the restaurant, we ordered veg meals, mushroom biryani, gobi pepper dry, baby corn chilli, and garlic roti with paneer Kolhapuri.

Since I ordered the baby corn chilli for my daughter, the waiter suggested switching to baby corn Manchurian, mentioning it would be less spicy. I really appreciated the suggestion.

The dishes were served along with a veg salad platter — which included four slices each of cucumber, carrot, and tomato. We assumed it was a complimentary welcome platter, as we hadn’t ordered it.

Then came the baby corn — as chilli, not Manchurian — and it was very spicy. I asked the waiter to change it. After 5 minutes, they brought it back claiming it was now “0 spicy.” But it was just drenched in extra salt and sauce. My daughter couldn’t eat even a single piece, and neither could the adults.

The rest of the food was good. There was one waitress (I didn’t catch her name) who served us very well.

Now, the bill — and this is where I was shocked. The salad platter (which we didn’t order) was included, and they charged ₹85 for just four slices each of cucumber, tomato, and carrot! I felt it was a scam. I argued, and they finally removed the charge.

I request all future customers to be aware of this trick before visiting this restaurant. If they serve something you didn’t order, and you don’t need it, please refuse it.

I’ve visited many restaurants in my life, but I’ve never seen this kind of tactic.

Note: I paid the full bill — including for the over-salted, sauce-laden so-called “baby corn Manchurian” that no one ate. They didn’t care about that at all.

Please be careful, everyone!

Thanks! Happy eating and...

Have listened quite a few good reviews about the RRR food back in Bangalore mostly by people who are well informed about Mysore and their eateries. Not much new age SM influencers covered this place. place is just adequate and clean Both AC and non AC dining sections available clean restrooms Friendly staff food served on plantain leaf; Feels good Chicken and mutton biryani was good Rice flavor was great When it comes to the meat, we are kinda accustomed to having specific cuts of chicken / mutton in Biryani but this joint has no such rules each and every piece of the bird will be in your biryani Mutton available in Mysore is great; the same reflects in the biryani I asked for service manager for suggestions and it was a mistake I was told Chicken Tika and Chicken Tandoori dishes are their best starters; both were high price items Tika masala was not completely cooked and meat was a bit rough; Cheese made this dish even more cringing Tandoor had way too much of masala and was not right for my pallet atleast I asked for cucumber (only) salad and they gave a plate which has just one cucumber and charged ₹160 - this seems the usual billing restriction; they have no way for charging less or custom item Generally, pricing seems high for this place you will be influenced/pushed by the staff to spend more so tourists, beware

Stick to Biryani or the meals they serve, you will have no complaints

Limited shared street parking, co-ordinated...
