The good things first They offer lots of parking space. And the parking assistance at the front was nice and efficient. They have staff to open the door and lots of staff inside too The Airconditioning is very good. And there was no lingering food odour inside either. The lights are bright and lots of money has been invested in offering a great customer experience.
Next the bad news The ground floor was full so we were guided upstairs. You exit through a side door to go upstairs via a staircase. Adjacent is a juice bar. And a sick sort of bad odour of aging pressed fruit pulp waste follows you along with the sudden sultry humidity from the crisp cool of the ac. But then you step back into the same excellent aircon in the upstairs area which is large and spacious and bright ….with enough staff, to lean against walls. The furniture is well made, but the chair was too low and bent my legs and the seating somehow sort of pinched the abdomen to make me uncomfortable enough to not want to eat.
But that was alright because the food wasn’t good anyway. It looked great. It came fast enough, and the presentation was good. See the pics 😊 But the gravy was quite floury ( maybe too much cornstarch or other flour) and the taste was not at all acceptable ( okay that’s subjective…you may love it when I hated it, so I’m only mouthing my own experiences) I do not like wasting food and I also don’t like wasting money on expensive food, so we try to finish it even if it’s too much. But sad to say, I had to waste the food this time. Couldn’t stomach it. The service was kind enough to offer to pack it for us. But it was quite apparent that probably in the perception of the management, they are offering good stuff. And no one likes to be told their food is not good to eat. If they had even a half baked experienced floor manager, he would have had the sense to ask whether we had some issue, as there was plenty wasted on the plates and the dishes.
But then, I’m also sure that they will be another famous fixture here, because all sorts of folks have all sorts of likes and...
Read moreOne of the brands that you know you can trust by just its name for the quality of food served! And this place, it's ambience and styling interior is wow! Simple and beautiful! We went there for dinner and ordered Masala Dosa, Plain Roast, Curd Vada, Paneer butter masala, butter nan, pineapple juice and watermelon juice! The quality of food is actually awesome! Masala dosa and plain dosa with three types of chutneys and sambhar were spot on! Loved the soft butter nan! The only disappointments came with the paneer butter masala and the curd vadas, they were very sweet! Like they added sugar to it...sweet curd vadas? NOPE! I prefer mine spicy! I didn't like it.. and paneer butter masala was also sweet! The juices were good!!
Service is super kind and very fast! Loved the waiter who served us and even the security guard who got me to park in such a tight spot with perfect precision! The only disappointments were the sweetness! Kindly ask and tell them that you'd like it spicy over sweet! Otherwise the definitely recommended place for...
Read moreThis restaurant is not an original Saravana Bhavan outlet. Today was my first time visiting this place for breakfast, and I ordered one Poori Masala. Normally, the taste across all Saravana Bhavan branches is quite consistent. However, the masala served here was extremely salty and inedible.
I then asked for some white chutney, but even that was overly salty. Typically, at all genuine Saravana Bhavan outlets, white chutney and potato masala are served fresh and together with the main dish. Shockingly, here I was given an extra small bowl of leftover curry that appeared to have already been partially eaten by someone else.
This raised serious doubts in my mind about the authenticity of the restaurant. I approached the ladies at the cash counter and asked if this was an original Saravana Bhavan outlet. They themselves admitted that it is not.
I have tasted food from Saravana Bhavan branches in Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, and Kerala over the past 25 years. Never have I experienced such poor quality...
