When I think about this place, I still remember the flavoured lemonade shop or stall that some random chettan ran aside the cocoa tree; that i once had a lemonade from after devouring food from the cocoa tree, probably in 2010 or so. My relationship with this cafe goes back to 2009 or so. When we used to come with a group and share everything and not limited to food. Back then, the lemonade shop next to cocoatree acted as a blessing for a college goer like me, because we would have spent a month's worth of pock money in on the food and left only with a few 10 or 20 rupee notes. We'd happily go to the lemonade place and spend the last minute with each other before returning home in the private red buses that ran within the city, back then. The food nor the drinks was never the highlight, but it was the way our minds felt high during the few seconds of time we spent with each other, that did it for us. I can't remember any other cafe that could beat the cocoa tree that dates back to this time. Maybe the barista cafe in bay pride mall?🫣😅 These days, as i pass by this historic monument in the forever young kochi, i make it a thing to stop and order a mushroom and spinach tart with a drink to go with, and I sit and embrace life for all the good memories. Has it ever happened to you, that in some random cafe or restaurant or bar or wherever, that a place or building brings music back to your otherwise 'background music less life?". Well that's cocoa tree to me. And to you, dear cocoa tree, I wish you eternity!! And to the lemonade shop chettan, I wish he squeezed all the lemons that came his way in life and made...

Late post alert. I had visited this place 3 weeks ago for lunch. This spot was my favourite but not anymore. It was at around 2.30- 3 pm, that me and my husband visited there and had ordered for green herb chicken steak for lunch. Before placing the order itself i had asked the restaurant specifically what approx time they would take to prepare and deliver. They told me 20 mins. I told them not to be late as I am pregnant and need to have my lunch asap. They said fine. We waited and waited and waited for 1 whole hour. I could see a rush in the restaurant and they were keen to deliver the orders on every other table but not ours. I was freaking out of hunger and wanted to immediately leave the place but still held there thinking i might get the good food soon. One hour passed by, and when I consistently asked for the status of my order they had brought it on the table. The moment i had one tiny portion of it, i was absolutely disheartened. The chicken steak was ice cold (as if it was prepared hours ago and left it like that), the mashed potatoes were saltless and tasting absolutely rubbish (compared to what they used to serve before Covid). I was furious by the entire experience and left the place after asking them to take it back and cancelling that meal. They were inconsiderate of the situation that I was pregnant and didnt try to deliver me food on time. However, while i was leaving they said unwilling that they can heat the food again and serve but who would want to have that again after waiting for more than an hour. I would never wish to visit this place ever again👎🏻. Absolutely...

One of the most happening places in Kochi and surely the best where my wife and I, with our little kiddo love to go for big bites. The place is open till late night hours and thus helps you to sit and enjoy your favourite cuisine when all other restaurants in kochi are closed for the day. Their vast variety of sandwiches with chicken, mutton and pork dishes are simply amazing. Their pastries are yummy and my favourite is fig & honey and double chocolate along with Berry Blast. They have interesting setup of chairs and tables with Moroccon tiles and complementing crockery and dishes. They have ample parking space and you can easily park your bike or car and enjoy comfortably. Vallet parking is also available. However since it is on the busy road so it is a bit difficult to park your car during the day time on the adjacent road side, evenings are quite OK. Most important thing is that the visiting crowd is decent and you can go there with family during late night hours too. In if you want to see some luxury super cars you can visit cocoa Tree on Saturday evening. Further more their internal setup is nice wherein they have decorated the area with some antiques n lots of photo frames. Flowerpots kept by them give fresh look to the restaurant. The area is nicely lighted and decorated during the Christmas. Have a look at the some of the added photographs and you will be able to appreciate the the resurant better. I will soon be adding some more photographs of the restaurant. You can also buy some farm and organic stuff like honey, however I feel their rates are on the...

This review is purely based on the desserts I’ve had from Cocoa Tree. Had about seven desserts - Mississippi Mud Pie, Chocolate “something” cake, Fig and Honey cake, Creme Brûlée, Butterscotch “something” cake and a Chocolate Brownie. Everything tasted excellent and was well priced as well. I particularly liked the Mississippi Mud Pie (which was the most favourite) and the chocolate cake and brownie. The Fig and Honey cake were a bit too sugary and the Creme Brûlée, with a perfectly executed crust was “okay” to my tasting. Overall, the experience was nice, which was made all the better by the cozy ambience. I’ll sure be visiting this place to try their other dishes. In conclusion, I entered Cocoa Tree craving for some good desserts and left with a sugar-rush which I’ll cherish. Edit : The Almond-Dark Brownie Cake is one delicious thing. We also had something with coffee and dark chocolate, and a bun with whipped cream and mango slices (sadly, I don’t remember the names). This place never ceases to amaze.
