Travancore Court — Hotel in Kerala

Excellent Hotel with most appreciable service standards.

We (Me ,my wife and 2 year old child) stayed 7 nights here. Now it's the time to review this beautiful hotel.

We did our room booking through an online channel . The same was reconfirmed with the Hotel reception staffs.

Let's start and talk from the Porte cochere . The security staffs were really attentive . They attended us,soon when our car entered to the main entrance. Took initiative to call the Concierge staff to assist with our luggages.

Front desk staffs welcomed us with welcome drink and warm beautiful smiles. We have seen very warm approach from all the staffs around us. Team did a swift check-in and ensured we were guided to the booked room without any delay, and the luggage followed.

Moving to the Restaurant - The Feast. I been this restaurant many times before my stay. As we are on breakfast and dinner package, most of our quality time spend in this restaurant. All the staffs are doing a great job . It's very difficult to see a busy restaurant with attentive staffs. Here, we experienced, quick, responsive, attentive and personalised touch in services. My son was very much comfortable to be in this hotel and in the restaurant.

Once the kids are happy, we the parents will be happy. We did the same here. There is nothing in this hotel for kids,like kids play room etc. But the staffs made him comfortable. I mention, Arya in the restaurant. She made our 7 breakfasts more happier and comfortable. We met Mr Anand Paul - Food and beverage manager ,who played a major role.

During our stay, I think, we met all the main managers , Mr Ajai, Mr Ajith Haridas, Mr Anand Paul, Chef Dileep. Thank you for all your time. We were so happy to meet you.

Food : As we stayed a week, we have seen the best buffet spread for the breakfast and dinner , somedays lunch as well. Seafood sizzlers is yet another good option to choose during dinner. Chef Dileep is the man behind the food. We met him during one of his interaction with another guest. Few pictures were attached. Food is tasty!!!

Rooms are good enough. Mostly all the areas required serious maintainence. And I hope, they are already in the stage to kickoff the refurbishment. Gym equipments also to change. In-room cleanliness to be improved bit more.

The hotel is closer to the Ernakulam Junction railway station. Maharaja college mrt station is nearer to the hotel. Marine drive is near to this hotel. If required to catch domestic flight at Aluva, please start at least 3 hrs earlier than flight time. We started 2 hrs before the flight and we were late due to heavy traffic because of on-going construction. We were lucky that our flight was delayed for 30 mins. Auto/Tuk tuk drivers are more familiar with Warriam road than hotel name itself.

A vintage hotel, which may have a great past but the reception staff (except one lady at the reception) are too proud of that. No greeting or smile from the reception staff. Seems like that they are just carrying out their duty. Only one lady reception staff smiled and wished us good morning.

Rooms are big and city view from room was very good. Some area like wall behind the main door requires repair in 511. Nobody briefed us about the provided amenities, we only came to know that the table, we are using to keep our small bags are actually having small refrigerator in it.

Rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Bathroom has bath tub as well. The bathroom has hot and cold water supply.

Roof top pool timing is 7.30 AM to 7.30 PM. We went to take bath at around 8.30 AM. Swimming pool water was green and there was no staff near gym or sauna. We went down to reception to talk about the cleaning-ness of swimming pool. They quickly send the staff to check. They explained us that it was cleaned in the morning before 7.30 AM. It is green due to mixing of rain water at 8.30 AM. Bath towels were placed at the entrance of swimming pool at 8th floor. We did not take breakfast at the hotel, so we are unable to comment on that. Check-out was very fast. Ground Staff including guards were very polite and helpful.

We liked the tags everywhere "Do More". If management is reading my review, please incorporate more customer relation in your service. Please also brief them about the provided amenities or hand over them some detail during check-in. It may help to attract more guest and it will give value for the money for...

We stayed here for only one night before catching a very early flight. So, we didn't experience the breakfast. The rooms were good although very warm und super humid. Everything felt a bit moist and also smelled the same. The bathroom was nice, only the shower door was leaky. What really stood out to us in a negative way was the service. The woman who checked us in was kind of unfriendly. Also, it said online that card payment was unpossible. Then we were asked to pay cash when checking in. When we asked to pay by card, the lady said that it is currently not possible due to technical difficulties but we insisted to try and it worked?! Then we were asked to leave our luggage there as it would be taken care of. It was standing right by the entrance and no one was paying attention to it when we went upstairs to our room. After waiting for a bit, our luggage was not yet there so I went downstairs and got it myself. I am not used to this service from my home country anyway so maybe i am to critical here but I don't want to wait for my luggage for half an hour after checking in and also I want to be sure my luggage is being watched and there where many people spending time in the lobby at that time and also people coming in and going out frequently and our luggage was not even close to the counter so I was worried that something would get stolen. Plus, I specifically asked to please bring it upstairs right away when I expressed my concern which they agreed to but didn't happen. We checked out that night and where asked to pay again. Only when we insisted on having had paid already, the guy bothered to look for our invoice to see that we indees had paid already. I don't know if that was a scam or just bad organization but this shouldn't happen! So, to sum it up, the stay was ok. We enjoyed some time by the pool as well. Here, please have some kind of separation between smoking and pool area. But still nice to have pool. And please, improve your service. Some things really could be...
