Malabar Plaza, Kochi
During a recent trip to Kochi, I had the pleasure of dining at Malabar Plaza, a well-known restaurant in the city. Situated in a central location, the restaurant is popular for serving authentic Kerala cuisine, and my experience lived up to its reputation.
Ambiance:
The atmosphere at Malabar Plaza is casual yet inviting. It’s not overly fancy, but it’s clean and comfortable, making it ideal for a relaxed meal. The decor is simple, with a focus on showcasing Kerala's culture, and the seating arrangement allows for both small groups and larger gatherings.
Food:
The food at Malabar Plaza was undoubtedly the highlight. I ordered a traditional Kerala meal, which included a variety of dishes like appam, puttu, fish curry, and a flavorful beef fry. The freshness of the ingredients was immediately noticeable, and the spices were perfectly balanced, delivering the authentic flavors of Kerala cuisine. The Malabar biryani was a standout dish, rich in flavor and generously portioned.
For seafood lovers, Malabar Plaza offers an array of options like prawns, crab, and different varieties of fish, all cooked with local spices that make each dish unique. I also tried the parotta with chicken curry, which was delicious and satisfying.
Service:
The service at Malabar Plaza was efficient and courteous. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and they were more than happy to make recommendations and explain the dishes to me. The food arrived in a reasonable time, and the servers made sure everything was to my satisfaction.
Pricing:
One of the best aspects of Malabar Plaza is that it offers great value for money. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. It’s an excellent option for those looking to enjoy authentic Kerala flavors without breaking the bank.
Verdict:
If you’re in Kochi and looking to experience traditional Kerala cuisine, Malabar Plaza is definitely worth a visit. With its delicious food, friendly service, and reasonable prices, it’s a restaurant that delivers on both taste and...
Read moreThe place is literally cheating the customers.Better they should go for pickpocketing.Me and my friend ordered their chicken biriyani and Fish biriyani. As the rate for Fish biriyani was striked off in the menu(first step of scam) we had to enquire about the prices with the waiter. We enquired the rates and he told us its 230 ruppees. We ordered it and food came. The chicken biriyani was average but the fish biriyani was utter flop with 2-3 small dry deep fried fish👎.And the greatest scam was in when the bill came , It showed 300 ruppees. We thought it was some mistake and told at the reception. That guy had the worst attitutde,he mocked us saying that we dont even serve biriyani for 230 ruppes. We said the waiter the said so.He said there is no chance. We insisted to call the waiter and after making us wait he called and asked the waiter how much is for fish biriyani. He didnt answer. Then again owner(receptionist) asked its 300 right? And why these guys are telling u said 230? He said it was the rate of prawns biriyani. But the fun part is the prawns is listed in the menu as other item at 200 rupees. Its rate was already there why would we ask its rate? Then we paid and left.Dont let this idiots scam the hell...
Read moreThe worst customer service I have ever experienced!!! Not in my wildest dreams did I expect walking into Malabar plaza @ Edappally would be a terrifying and dreaded experience for my friend and I. We walked into Malabar plaza, to have a lunch meal and occupied a table (out of the many vacant ones available there). Hardly a second later, one of the waiters sprouts up asking us to vacate the table and occupy another space. When asked why a table is being reassigned, the waiter simply chose to raise his voice and made a scene by insisting that it’s peak hours. I would understand if I could see people waiting for a table to be free, but unfortunately there was none. When did shouting and asking a customer to leave is okayed? Where is the customer etiquette, courtesy and politeness? Mind you these guys are running a hospitality business, and we were forced to leave our table.
This was a very overwhelming and embrassing situation for us as wer deliberately asked to leave the place. This is one of rudest memories I have of going to a restaurant in...
