Visited Royal Bakers and Restaurant located in the Ambadi Building, Opposite Shenoys Theatre on M.G. Road, Ernakulam, Kerala state, India in 2022. It's also situated close to the Convent Road Junction. There are a lot of shopping options around. My review is only about the Bakery visits that I made. The place is quite accessible either by walking, riding an auto, taxi, bicycle, the Metro, or even taking those M.G. Road/Padma buses.
This is a great bakery with lots of selections. You could buy anything such as their own bakery products like cookies, ladoos, sweets, Noodles, halwa, or a variety of snacks, besides ice creams and chocolates. The place could use a little bit more light inside.
I ordered Pista ice cream, a 1.2L Tropicana Slice Mango juice, and Unniyappam pack (Sweetened rice fritters). On another visit, Banana Chips Four Cut available and Chakka/Jackfruit Chips were purchased. The prices were very affordable. The products were very fresh as well.
My first impression about the Bakery was excellent. The Manager/Owner, besides the other assisting staff, were equally welcoming, pleasing, cheerful, and resourceful. The customer service was fabulous! The staff also portrayed excellent listening skills.
Tip: If you want to buy their Unniyappam packs or extra to carry with you, please make sure to reach by or around 10:00 A.M., as I was advised. It could easily get sold off by the same afternoon. This could also avoid any surprises! This is from my experience! Any of their merchandise is worth it and provides great value. You won't be disappointed. I would highly recommend Royal Bakers and maybe even try their restaurant for the very first time on my next trip, besides visit their bakery yet...
Read moreFirst experience on their opening day in business was terrible. No cold drinks, no basic facilities of soap in the hand wash area and especially in these covid days Little thought has been paid to the safety and comfort and convenience of the people of ho will be expected to eat at their place.
The Beef Plate was a disaster... Bland and terrible flavours. Some gooey stuff they claim to be cheese but clearly didn't feel, look, taste or smell like cheese
Their carrot cakes are good. Couldn't try the rest of their wares. But initial feeling is one where everything looks nice but may not taste as good.
Hopefully those were just teething troubles of the first day and they will be more mindful of their customers and their perceptions and needs as much as they are intent on making name, fame and money.
Conveniently located bang opposite the Shenoys theater complex on MG Road, at the very corner where the once thriving and very famous Peter's Bakery operated from. Sadly Peter's Bakery went out of operation a few years ago. For the benefit of those who have enjoyed the Peter Bakery's food, i hope Royal will try to live up to that same name...
Read moreI recently visited Royal Bakery and was quite disappointed with my experience. I ordered a watermelon juice without sugar, expecting a refreshing, natural juice. However, what I received was more like water with a faint hint of watermelon flavor. The juice was diluted to the point where it felt like plain water with just a touch of flavoring.
When I brought this up with the staff, the service was equally disappointing. The staff member's response was dismissive. There was no attempt to address or resolve the issue, and I felt that the overall quality of both the product and the service was extremely poor.
For a bakery that should pride itself on quality, this was a major letdown. I won’t be returning, as both the drink and customer service failed to meet even basic expectations.
Herewith attaching bill as well. I also ordered an egg puff, which was served cold. It was clear that it hadn’t been freshly made or properly reheated, making it unappetizing. When you're paying for food, you expect it to be served at the right temperature, and unfortunately, both the juice and the puff fell short. But the black forest...
