Home is where you heart is, and I must say this cafe has my heart. 8th Day, when I hear this name I have only fond memories and experiences playing in my head and an overwhelming need for that scrumptious coffee and those "hit the right spot cookies". This place has a very Homely feel to itself and the ambiance just welcomes you right. The staff is extremely friendly and will definitely take care of you, one can rarely complain about their experience here. The cafe has a very American Daily Coffee spot feel to it. Now to be fair and just I mustn't only praise but also criticise what must be rectified, though a great menu I wish thay the place had a more robust food menu. When one opens the food menu, there just isn't enough to order from. Their Coffees and teas hit just the right spot but their other refreshments fail to do so, don't get me wrong they are good but they fail to live up to the standards expected from a place such as this. While their cookies are great and will leave you drooling their pies and cakes seem to be either too sweet or too bland. The service feels very personal and caring as the staff tries to make you feel welcome and at home but this can make them slow on a busy day.
Pros: Great Ambiance Unparalleled Presentation Rich Coffee Subtle Tea Best Cookies in town Great staff Safe and hygienic environment
Cons: Narrow food menu Portions are small Average Cold refreshments Slow service during peak...
Read moreWe went to this place after a long search and some recommendations and disappointment rushed in. Place is small but decor is fine. But where we were sitting, we had burning eyes as the kitchen was nearby and probably it has some issues with their ventilation. Now the most disappointing part was their food. We first ordered some pizza which came as focaccia bread topped with some cheese and small pieces of chicken. Bread was not fresh, cheese was very hard and chewy. Then we had their white sauce pasta- the white sauce was not at all creamy, rather it looked some curdled milk. Their non-veg pasta comes with chicken strips in the side. Chicken strips were tasty but the overall plate was not good at all. For dessert we had their tiramisu and brownie (without ice cream as there was no ice cream left). Tiramishu was very soggy, it felt like it was dipped in water. Brownie was over-baked, upper layer of it was very hard and it also had a weird after-taste of baking soda. The only thing we liked about them was their coffee. We had their Mocha, Iced Cappucino, Frappe Mocha and Caramel Iced Coffee- each of them were very good. Had a very strong taste of coffee which will hit the right note of your taste-bud. Also, their service was fine and people attending us were very polite and helpful. So, I would not really recommend them for food but Coffee- you should definitely...
Read moreGreeny Saturday!! Usually for me, Saturday afternoons are the time to unwind and let my body relax. So neither in the mood to cook nor too keen to order junk food, I decided to go green! While scrolling through Swiggy, I came across 8th Day Cafe and Bakery. Now in the past I've only had coffee from here and it was decent enough. So I thought of giving their food also a try.
I ordered- Chicken Caesar salad. Southwest Chicken Salad. The Break-up Brownie. Everything Bagel.
I must say, the Chicken Caesar Salad was quite impressive. Never had a bowl with such a lot of green been so tempting. The chicken chunks were soft with a moderate mayo dressing. The croutons were the added attraction. The parmesan was recently added. It was yummm!
The Southwest Chicken Salad was , what should I say, interesting. The black-beans salsa along with cheddar added a little flavour to this otherwise bland dish. The chicken slices could have been more. The single tortilla chip was just an added crowd.
The brownie was good, but people with a sweet tooth may find it a little too salty.
The Bagel was simply a disaster. It seemed absolutely stale. It was too hard to even chew. We had to eventually throw it.
If for nothing else, give this cafe a try for their delicious...
