Random searching led me to this place . Nestled in the bylanes of Gariahat, it's a must visit place for South Indian cuisine lovers . Entering this place will give u a feel that it's going to hurt ur pockets with its bright colourful deccan touch to the place and traditional Southern indian music playing in the background but it's a well known fact that South Indian food is pocket friendly and this was not an exception.
We settled down and ordered Mini Podi Idli which they serve 12 mini pieces . With the classic white coconut chutney and a tangy-sweet roasted tomato chutney. The idlies are coated in podi i.e. gun powder taking this dish up a notch giving it a mild spice . In short I fell in love with the dish and regret not knowing about it before.
Then we ordered Masala Dosa . The Dosa was pretty big and crispy. The filling was a bit different from the normal Masala fillings we've seen. The potatoes were a bit too cooked and mashed and had a texture of Bengali "aloo chochhori" if one is aware of it ull understand what I meant. The Masala dosa filling could've been better but the sambar was again a 9/10 .
Do visit this place for soulful South Indian vegetarian dishes. It serves heavenly delicacies.
Masala Dosa - 200/- Mini Podi Idly - 175/- (12pcs) The price came down to 394/- for 2 people.
Edit: This is after my second visit to the place , a warm experience again. The hospitality, the environment, the food undoubtedly top tier.
We were really hungry so we ordered one masala dosa and one cheese dosa . The masala dosa this time was served with the masala aloo outside the dosa in a bowl which is a fun take on the traditional dish. Cheese dosa felt a dicey concept , however cheese and dosa together absolute harmony it was . The chutneys are delicious. The waiters came to our table to refill the chutneys twice . Had a wonderful experience again, can't find a...

The moment you step in, the ambiance is gentle yet vibrant—tidy, welcoming, with the aromas of roasted spices, fresh curry leaves, and brewed coffee instantly putting you at ease. It carries a sense of authenticity that makes you slow down and pay attention to what’s on your plate.
I visited with friends and together we tried the rava dosa, idli, buttermilk, and filter coffee. The rava dosa was crisp, golden, and fragrant, with every bite carrying that delicate crunch. The idlis were soft, cloud‑like, and comforting—paired beautifully with fresh chutneys and a soulful sambar. The buttermilk was light, cooling, and spiced just enough to refresh. And the filter coffee—aromatic, strong, and perfectly balanced—rounded off the meal with a warmth that lingered long after.
What struck me most, beyond the food, was the mood of the place. There’s a quiet generosity here, in the service, in the pacing, in the way food is served with care rather than haste. It feels less like a restaurant visit and more like being hosted.

Read more⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Unprofessional Behavior by the Owner – Disrespectful to Both Staff and Customers
I visited Ramanee – The Soul of Dakshin today around 6 PM and was appalled by the owner's conduct. Right in the middle of service, while guests were dining, the owner was loudly berating her staff in front of everyone over some unfinished decorations.
It was not just uncomfortable — it was downright humiliating for the staff and deeply off-putting for the customers. To make matters worse, she was directing them to fix decor elements while people were trying to enjoy their meals. This created a chaotic and tense atmosphere, which completely ruined the dining experience.
A restaurant should be a place of hospitality and calm, not a public stage for management to humiliate employees. This kind of behavior reflects extremely poorly on the brand and shows a shocking lack of professionalism.
The food may carry "soul," but the way the staff is treated here is soulless. I sincerely hope the owner reflects on this and learns to treat her team — and by extension, her customers — with the respect...
