The restaurant is old but you can't tell because it is well maintained. The taste of the food is average, but the 2nd floor is quite big, you can eat with the whole family. Their food service is very good, but the ac maintenance needs to be done a bit more. The restaurant is bit expensive. However, you can eat with friends or family.

From Google.... New Aliah Hotel popularly known as Aliah Hotel is one of the city oldest restaurants derived its name from the two brothers Late Haji Md Ali Bux and Late Md Ali established in 1929.

Presently It is being run by Haji Md Enam and late Md Ekram’s son Md Faisal Ekram and Md Tahseen Ekram, It first started as a modest eatery shop serving tea and snacksnow being transformed into high class AC dining room, cozy interior with chandlers grazed brick walls accompanied with mirror.

Even today Jamal Ahmed Jamal volunteers the size of the mutton and monitors the spices for each and every menu items who has been around since 1964.

The biryani served here has a distinct flavour, very close to the one you get to eat in a Muslim wedding – slightly spicy and low on oil. The potato and meat are well cooked and of moderate size. The flavour, aroma and most importantly the taste strikes a beautiful balance leaving you satiated at the end of your meal. The chaanp and the mouth watering kababs are the one which people come again and again to cherish.

Aliah''s stew constitutes deep dish full of cubes of meat, cooked to spoon tenderness, practically immersed in oil andan onion-rich gravy, with whole peppercorns adding what they are supposed to add - depth and dimension.

Like rosogolla representing Bengal, Firni (Milk reduced to a caramel thickness, small grains of rice, moderately sweet)represents The...

New Aliah Hotel, Kolkata – A Delightful Culinary Experience!

New Aliah Hotel is a legendary gem in Kolkata’s vibrant food scene, known for serving authentic Mughlai cuisine that leaves your taste buds craving for more. Located conveniently near Sealdah, this iconic eatery has been a go-to destination for food lovers for decades.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly their Mutton Biryani, which is perfectly cooked with fragrant rice, tender meat, and the right balance of spices. The Chicken Chaap and Rezala are equally delightful, with rich, flavorful gravies that pair beautifully with their soft and fluffy Rumali Rotis. Vegetarians will also find some delicious options, though the non-veg dishes are the showstoppers here.

What sets New Aliah apart is its traditional taste and consistency in quality. The food is served fresh, with generous portions, making it excellent value for money. The ambiance is simple and no-frills, but it adds to the old-world charm of this place.

The service is efficient and polite, and the staff ensures you have a pleasant dining experience even during busy hours. The restaurant is usually crowded, especially during lunch and dinner times, so plan accordingly or opt for takeaway if you’re in a hurry.

Pro tip: Don’t leave without trying their Firni for dessert – it’s the perfect sweet ending to a hearty meal!

In conclusion, New Aliah Hotel is a culinary institution in Kolkata that never disappoints. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, it’s a must-visit spot for anyone looking to savor the true essence of Mughlai flavors in the City of Joy.

Authentic food, great service, and unbeatable taste – highly...

I went there after almost 10 years, I used to visit this place once in a month when I was in my college and early legal internship days with my seniors, friends. So going back again it was nice. This time I ordered 1 plate chicken biriyani 1 plate chicken qoorma 1 plate chicken reshmi kebab 1 tandoori Roti Biriyani quantity was same as before may be slightly less, still they are serving with small plates where you think OMG so much biriyani but not the case 😝 taste wise it is ok not so special and you don't get egg here but Aloo is there one thing i am surprised the oily ness is almost very very less now a days in there biriyani earlier it was like dripping. Chicken qoorma taste was ordinary nothing special Chicken Resmi Kebabs are good soft lil bit juicy the size was big, I personally like soft like buttery Kebabs and Juicy feeling, lil bit disappointed. Tandoori roti was good Service is very good as usual Very timely One thing hit me that is price, i mean i know now days running a restaurant needs big money but i feel price was very very high may be they want to become premium don't know, chicken qoorma one pc and one egg and one aloo 225rs is not good. But definitely recommendable go there enjoy your time after all it is one of the Kolkata's oldest Restaurant. See you in my next review till then stay healthy eat...
