Wokaholic is located at Loudon Street Area just a few metres away from Aqua Java.
Nowadays you will see that many new restaurants in Kolkata have started selling food in a cylindrical form of container which they call Woks.
This concept has been there in a few countries for a long time. But in India this concept is still new. It is helpful to those people who don’t have a lot of time in their hand. Well now you guys can say there are different kind of foods that people can have while working. But they don’t really qualify as a full meal, they are just snacks or quick bites.
The concept of Woks was first introduced to the City of Joy by the people behind Wokaholic.
Wokaholic doesn’t just serve Woks, they give you the freedom to choose the contents of the wok. Of course there are limitations as you guys know how creative your minds are.
Anyway, Wokaholic has broken down the process of making your wok into 4 simple steps.
First you have to choose the base then you have to choose the veggies that you want there to be in your wok(you can choose only upto 5 veggies, well now I hope you understand why there has to be limitations). After choosing the veggies, you have to choose a sauce for the base(they have also provided us with a brief information about the sauce in the menu). Lastly you have to choose the seasoning(any 3).
Now coming to what I had there:
Wok Noodles:I don’t remember the contents of the wok but what I can tell you is that it was a veg wok. For those who want a non-veg version can add egg, chicken or shrimps from the protein section of themenu. The quantity was good enough and the wok was steaming hot when I received it.

Chilli Soya Rice Bowl:This dish is part of a new initiative that they have taken for those who are unable to decide the contents of their Woks.
This rice bowl exceeded my expectations. It tasted great and to my surprise it was warm even after I spent 15 minutes just taking pictures.

Schezwan Rice Bowl:In the description of the rice bowl it says that this rice bowl contains the Wokaholic Special Schezwan Sauce. Well it didn’t seem that special to me. Maybe it’s just me and everyone has their preferences so I think others may really like it and others who are like me might find it just average. This rice bowl is not bad in any way but it is also nothing special at least for me.

Read moreAwesome! Beautiful decor and nice ambience. Located just few steps away from Maidan Metro station. We went for dinner after booking though Dineout app. The staff was very courteous and welcomed us. We had MEI FUN (Non-veg) along with WOKAHOLIC CHILLI CHICKEN (Gravy) and TENDER COCONUT Ice Cream for dessert.
MEI FUN (Rating - 4.5/5) - Taste was good. The rice noodles were thin and light, just as it should be. The flavors were quite mild alone. However, when paired with the gravy of the chicken dish, it was quite good. It had chicken strips which was seasoned to perfection and were very juicy, cooked well and fresh. Loved it. Price was Rs.210 for veg, Rs. 240 for non-veg and Rs.260 for mixed. Portion size is enough for 2 people.
WOKAHOLIC CHILLI CHICKEN (Rating - 4.9/5) - Taste was awesome. While ordering you can opt for gravy and dry. We opted for the gravy one and it was very tasty. There were approx 8-10 chicken pieces, cooked well in a spicy tasty gravy. A must try! Price was Rs.310. Portion size is enough for 2 people.
TENDER COCONUT (Rating 5/5) - The ice cream was super tasty. It is one of their summer specials and is highly recommended. The taste is coconutty, pulpy and very refreshing. My girlfriend who is not much a fan of ice creams was delighted to have it. It had 3 scoops of ice cream.
Overall the dine-in experience was great. There are about 8-10 tables for dine-in and spread in a spacious manner, which is nice. Also, their kitchen is an open glass kitchen, which one can see through. The concept is very cool and one of the main features why this restaurant stands out of the other ones. There is also availability of washrooms. It was not crowded when we visited. Staff is very nice.
FOOD QUANTITY - 5/5 FOOD QUALITY AND TASTE - 5/5 AMBIENCE - 5/5 STAFF BEHAVIOR - 5/5 HYGIENE - 5/5 POCKET PINCH - Approx Rs.300 to Rs.400 per person.
One of the best features that I liked was the simple and easy to understand menu. It is not overly crowded with many items, nor it is complex to go through. It is very easy to go through and saves the hassle of going through page after page of menu book. It may be one of the most underrated features, but I absolutely liked it. Also they have a make your own wok option for ordering. It costs Rs.290 and you can customize the ingredients and the food items you want. I think it's also a...
Read moreChinese food is always satisfying without being too heavy. If you are also a Chinese Food lover then I have a good good news for you. Wokaholic has now opened its new outlet at Russel Street, just oppostite Maidan Metro. This outlet is decorated beautifully and they have a huge seating capacity. Visited this place few days back and tried the following items :
We started with a fresh lime soda which was very refreshing.
For starters we tried their Crispy Chilli Baby Corn, Wokaholic Dry Chilli Chicken, Pan Fried Chilli Fish, Lat Mei Kai Chicken, Panko Fish and Chicken Classic Dimsum. One of the best dimsums I tried, these dimsums were very juicy inside and just melted in mouth. The Panko Fish was perfectly crisp outside and very tender inside, the aroma of Gondhoraj Lemon took this dish to a whole new level. The Pan fried chilli fish was crunchy, tasty, filling and full of aromatic flavours at the same time. Lat Mei Kai Chicken also tasted really good.
We ordered Garlic Burnt Rice, Meinfun Noodles, Honey Mustard Fish, Kung Pao Chicken and Customised Wok Box for Main course. This Meinfun was loaded with Chicken and Prawns tasted really good with the Honey Garlic Fish. I truely enjoyed the flavours of honey, soy sauce, garlic with the soft chunk of fish. Next we tried their burnt garlic noodles with kung Pao chicken. Loved the stir-fried chicken with peanuts, and vegetables. The best part about their food is the quantity is huge.
You can even make your own WOK box here by choosing your favourite base, sauce and ingredients like we made our WOK box with flat noodles. I simply loved this concept.
Overall I loved everything about this place. The food was great, loved the ambience even the service was prompt. The staffs were very courteous here. I would love to recommend this place...
