The Glenburn Café, Kanak Towers. The teas start at Rs150 and the food is priced between Rs220-Rs500 a dish.
The mellow muscatel notes of the Darjeeling tea are well complemented by a squeeze of fresh gondhoraj lemon. The complex floral sweetness of the iced brew pairs perfectly with the delicate flavours of the chef’s version of the Yorkshire curd tart—a perfect footnote to a sweltering summer day in Kolkata. There are cheery yellow flowers peeking from the boxes below each window. The green and white colour palette and warm wooden accents channel a turn-of-the-century European tea room. Ensconced within the air-conditioned interiors, sampling tea and cake, one is hard-pressed to remember the humid weather or the chaotic bustle of the street right outside. Read moreThe first look of cafe will make you fall in love with it, though the location is very difficult to find. It is bag opposite icai bhawan backside of yes bank building...however the look is classy, very smartly minimalistic planned and gives you essence of some foreign cafe. This is a total Instagrammable place..it gives you a calm, serene feeling which definately is a yay yay. However I feel would be difficult if a large group goes...its ideal for smaller group of friends/ family. The menu card was already placed on each table but did not have beverage menu, the beverage menu was scattered on the walls, which was little inconvenient...the service was amazing, they were very welcoming, the coffee we ordered was more than amazing, specially hazelnut cappuccino. The food was presented very well. We ordered flatbread - spinach and mushroom which was suttle and nice. However the penne pasta was not the good and we could not eat that after few bites.. the improvement i would suggest is adding few more vegetarian dishes to the menu as we are left with very very few options..overall the experience was amazing...and would definitely recommend visiting this place and try out...
